1 day
Private
About this activity
Your private tour starts with hotel pickup in Cusco. Meet your guide and board a vehicle to visit the Sacred Valley of the Incas. First, you will visit the Andean community of Amaru, where you will experience the daily life of a typical mountain community and see how they weave textiles, including belts and blankets. Also, witness how these people grow and harvest their produce and even taste the different types of delicious Andean potatoes and corn.
Continue your tour to Pisac, which has a large daily market full of goods for both tourists and locals. Villagers come from the mountains to the market to sell their home-grown produce and unique handmade arts and crafts. This is a famous and recommended place to find a wide variety of interesting souvenirs at great prices. After exploring the market, visit the incredible Pisaq Ruins, which are a magnificent collection of ruins that served religious, military and agricultural purposes. Learn from your guide, how the ruins were built in a strategic position overlooking the valley and now providing stunning scenery. Walk by marvels such as a Sun Temple, a cemetery, water ducts and agricultural terraces.
After this incredible visit, head to the beautiful valley to Ollantaytambo, one of the last Incan refuges during Spanish colonization. Step back in time as many of the houses and buildings continue to stand from the Incan empire and display original architecture. You will have a chance to enter one of these houses, observe the building and the way in which people used to live.
Then, you will visit the powerful and impressive Ollantaytambo ruins, temples and terraces. These sites are still very well-preserved since the Spanish conquest and provide an insight into how towns were designed during the Incan period. Finally, visit a local Andean house to see the daily life and activities of the people.
After your private Sacred Valley tour, you will be driven back to your hotel where can take the rest of the evening to relax.
