2-Day Tour Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu by Train

Itinerary

Day 1: Cuzco – Sacred Valley – Aguas Calientes Overnight

Stop At: Machu Picchu, 08680, Peru
You will be picked up from the hotel at 8:10 am and leave Cuzco around 8.30 am and driving to Pisaq to see the first Inca ruins of the tour. At Pisaq, you can see magnificent Inca remains, the ancient architecture and engineering of the Inca temples is breathtaking and will sweep you off your feet. The guided tour of Pisaq takes about 2-hour, before head back to the valley to visit the most colorful and traditional local market in Pisaq. Here you can buy traditional textiles at low prices. After the visit to the market, the sightseeing continues and you drive along the beautiful Sacred Valley. This area was the breadbasket of the Incas and still produces large amounts of corn on the Inca terraces. The next destination is

Urubamba, where you will arrive at about 13.00 pm to enjoy lunch (included) in one of the local restaurants. From Urubamba, it´s just 30 minutes to get to the last Inca ruins known as

Ollantaytambo (Inca palace). This site was built with pink granite rocks and is another impressive example of Inca craftsmanship. Here you can see the second biggest rock from the Inca’s time, which was used as part of the Temple of the Sun. After your tour, you have extra time to wander around the site before you will have dinner in any one of the local restaurants. In the afternoon you will head to the train station which is around 15 minutes to walk, which will be a 2-hour journey, Arriving in Aguas Calientes the personal of your hotel will be waiting for you with your respective name then will take you to your hotel. Then our tour guide will come to brief you about the next day.

Stop At: Pisac Peru
Pisac Ruins. The village of Pisac lies about 28 km from Cusco, right along the Río Vilcanota or the Urubamba River as it is also known. The big attraction are the Incan ruins known as Inca Písac which lie atop a hill at the entrance to the valley.

Stop At: Archaeological Park Ollantaytambo, Ollantaytambo 08676 Peru
Nowadays the Ollantaytambo ruins and town are an important and popular tourist attraction in the Sacred Valley. The town's primary attraction is the Ollantaytambo Fortress on the outskirts of the settlement in a section known as the Temple Hill.

Day 2: Aguas Calientes town – Machu Picchu – Cuzco

Stop At: Machu Picchu, 08680, Peru
Today is the most important day, as you will be visiting Machu Picchu. Because it’s so special, encourage yourself to wake up early in the morning to enjoy breakfast at the hotel and then get to the bus station to try to catch one of the first buses, which begin at 5:30 am (they are all first come first serve). The bus will take about 30 minutes to get to Machu Picchu. As soon as you arrive at the complex, you will be taken to the best spot to overlook all the ruins and get a panoramic view of the landscape. There will be a rendezvous to observe spectacular view of the Lost City of the Incas. You will then have a 1.5 hour guided tour around Machu Picchu, with plenty of free time afterward to explore on your own. If you have tickets to climb the amazing mountain of Huayna Picchu, your guide will direct you to where this hike begins. Once you are done with exploring all, what Machu Picchu has to offer, you will take a bus down to Aguas Calientes for lunch. Then you will take the train at 19 hrs. back to Ollantaytambo and from there the bus to San Francisco Plaza Cuzco.
