About this activity
DAY 1: CUSCO - MOLLEPATA – CHALLACANCHA – SORAYPAMPA (HUMANTAY LAKE)
This trek to Machu Picchu starts early at your hotel in Cusco. we pick you up at 5:00 am to transfer you to Mollepata town where you have the chance to enjoy a delicious andean breakfast then you continue in the same car to Soraypampa which is the trailhead. Once in Soraypampa you star the hike up to the humantay lake for 2 hours aproximatly after you make to the lake you have time for picturing to enjoy the area and the guide will explaing you about the area. 
DAY 2: SORAYPAMPA - SALKANTAY PASS - WAYRACPUNKU - CHAULLAY
Early morning with a great breakfast before start our hiking day. From this point we can appreciate the spectacular views of the Mountain Salkantay, and also the mountains Humantay and Huayanay, white river, small lakes and moraines. After walk for about five hourse we will have our lunch, After lunch we have 2-3 hours downhill walk to Camp at Chaullay 2,920 m.
DAY 3: CHAULLAY - LA PLAYA - SANTA TERESA - HYDROELECTRIC - AGUAS CALIENTES
This day you won’t have an early morning, we will start hike about 8am to the village Colpani, from which we will see plantations of coffee, banana, passion fruit and a view of the Santa Teresa Valley. We are going to walk following the Urubamba river until arrive to the Oroya (canopy bridge) Is in this place where we can take a taxi or walk to Hidroelectrica (let see how do you feeling), from this place we can observe the back of Machupicchu, and here we will have our last lunch with all staff. After that will continue walking until arrive to Aguas Calientes.
DAY 4: THE MOST IMPORTANT DAY – MACHU PICCHU!
This day we will have two options or going by walk at 4:30am or take the bus to Machu Picchu. In Machu Picchu, you will have a guided tour for about two hours then you will have your free time for enjoying this fantastic place, or if you desire, ascent toward the Huaynapicchu Mountain. At the evening we will be back to Cusco by train and bus.
PERSONAL ACCOMMODATION IN PRIVATE CAMPSITES:
Personal accommodation in private campsites: Like our ancestors, we are very considerate of the Pachamama (Mother Earth). Therefore, our campsites and lodges are adapted to the environment to avoid generating negative impacts.
• Night 1: Relax on your soft bed in our state-of-the-art Sky Camp under the watchful eye of Apu Salkantay on one side and Apu Humantay on the other. Spend as many hours as you would like star-gazing through your elegant glass ceiling! 
• Night 2: Enjoy our camping huts, made of ichu (Peruvian feather grass) and wood to guarantee a pleasant rest with protection during cold nights in the mountains. 2 people will stay in each 4-person tent inside of each individual hut. We provide you with a thick camping mattress free of charge.

  • Sleeping bag. Our sleeping bags are –20ºC-comfort (0ºF) and and mummy form and include a sleeping liner.
  • Collection from your hotel in the morning and transfer in private transportation to Challacancha (starting point of the trek)
  • Personal tents: 2 people in each 4-people-capacity tent, to allow for higher comfort and a safe keeping of backpacks.
  • English speaking professional and official tourist guide (2 guides for groups of over 8 people)
  • Chef and cooking equipment.
  • Accommodation in Aguas Calientes or Machupicchu
  • Horse man (to carry tents, food and cooking equipment) – days 1 to 4
  • 1 Bag or duffle bag where you can out maximum of 6kg per person (including sleeping pad and sleeping bag) – days 1 to 2(we are going to carry in our horses)

  • One textile snack bag per person, to avoid the usage of plastic bags that contaminate our environment

  • Camera and its charger/batteries (please note that batteries are consumed quickly under cold conditions),
  • Flashlight/headlamp + batteries,

  • Swimsuit (to visit the thermal baths of Aguas Calientes)
  • Snacks (biscuits, energy bars, chocolate, raw fruits, muesli, etc.) Please note: we do provide a daily morning snack and our meal service is very complete and well supplied. The recommendation of taken own snack applies only for customers who like a specific snack that might not be in our menu.
