About this activity
Day1: CUSCO - SORAYPAMPA – HUAYRACPUNKU
We pick you up from your hotel very early, you go on a three-hour trip to Sorypampa, where you will have a delicious breakfast made by our professionals, after meeting our team of people, at approximately 9:00 a.m. you will walk uphill and arrive at the place where you will have our lunch, ascend for one more hour to reach the highest point (Salkantay pass) and you will have a view of the mountain, in all its splendor and magnificence, walking you can see a beautiful blue lake, which was formed by the water that comes directly from that snow mountain, continue walking until you reach our camp in Wayracmachar where you will rest and have dinner.
Day 2: WAYRAMPUNKU - CHALLWAY - LA PLAYA
Before the sunrise you will knock your tent with a hot cup of coffee or tea, you will be surprised with a landscape surrounded by the largest mountain range in the world, at the end of your breakfast, starting the longest day of your trip, you will go from the Puna region covered with Ichu (grass) to the warm cloud forest. After a 4 hour walk until at the place where you will have a rest and our lunch, at the end of your walk until our campsite LA PLAYA, along the way you will see the change of climates.
Day 3: LA PLAYA – LLACTAPATA – HYDROELECTRIC – AGUAS CALIENTES
You will wake up in the warm climate of the cloud forest, after visiting the coffee plantations, you will pass by the original Inca trail, this way in the time of the Incas connected Vilcabamba with Machu Picchu, you will walking the uphill route until Llactapata, which It is located in front of Machu Picchu, you will continue downhill for 2 hours until Hidro Eléctrica station where our Chef and our team awaits us with a delicious meal. After lunch you will take the train or walk to town of Aguas Calientes. After checking into the hotel, relax and have time for yourself.
Day 4: MACHUPICCHU (The lost city of the Incas)
You will wake up early in the morning in order to take the first bus and watch the sunrise at Machu Picchu. You will have a 2 – 3 hour guided tour by your English speaking guide showing you the best of this legendary lost city built between heaven and earth. Then, you will have free time to explore Machu Picchu by yourself or climb the Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu mountains (optional, book in advance). When you are done exploring, you will catch the bus to Aguas Calientes for lunch (not included). After, you will take the train and bus back to Cusco, where you will be dropped off at your hotel.
