About this activity
Depart from your hotel, transfer to Hoi An at about 8am where you will take the two-wheel option and cycle to Tra Que village approximately 30 minutes away through rural scenery.
Tra Que is a charming little village on the edge of Hoi An, the village is named after the sweet-scented vegetables that spice up the everyday meals of the Pho Hoi people. On arrival you will take a short stroll around the vegetable garden and learn the history of the village. Then it’s time to get to work as you join the gardening activities by preparing the land, fertilizing it with seaweed, raking the ground, sowing, watering and picking vegetables
After a relaxing foot soak you can help to prepare lunch with a local family. Traditional Hoi An dishes like Cao Lau and Quang noodles on the menu and you will also enjoy a cooking class presented by your local host where you will learn to prepare ‘Tam Huu’ spring rolls which were primarily made from Tra Que vegetables and a local pancake with meat (Banh xeo) which are typical central Vietnam dishes.
After enjoying the fruits of your labour at lunch you will get back to work as you learn how to harvest and wrap the vegetables.
After a satisfying and educational day, you bid farewell to your host family before riding back to your hotel.
