TRAVEL HOI AN TO HUE

Day 1: Danang Arrival – Hoi An

Upon arrival at Danang International Airport, welcomed by our guide and transferred 30km further to Hoi An Ancient town. Overnight in Hoi An.

Day 2: Hoi An Ancient Town & Cooking Class (B/-/D)

Upon landing, you’re met by our guide and transfer 1 hour to Hoi An Ancient town. Take a guided walking tour around Hoi An Ancient Town. Visit the Japanese Covered Bridge, Chinese Assembly Hall, and the local market. There’re numerous art galleries, souvenirs and tailor shops where you can get some express made-to-order clothes if you like!

In the afternoon, gather at a café in Hoi An’s old streets to meet the chef. Visit a local market to buy the ingredients to be used in the cooking lesson later. Board a boat for a leisurely cruise along the Thu Bon River to a restaurant. On arrival, explore the school’s herb and vegetable garden, before learning about some of Hoi An and Vietnam’s well-known dishes, which are a mix of Vietnamese and Chinese cuisines. The cooking lesson lasts about 2 hours– each dish is first demonstrated by the Red Bridge’s chef before you prepare the same dish by yourself. The class also contains a brief introduction to Vietnamese food carvings (plate decoration). After the lesson, we sit down and taste what we have cooked. Then the boat will take you back to Hoi An town.

Day 3: Hoi An – Hue (B)

After breakfast, drive via the scenic Hai Van Pass also known as the “Pass of the Ocean Clouds” to Hue. Spectacular scenery awaits you. We stop at Cham Museum, Marble Mountain and Hai Van Pass to take panorama view of long white beach stretching behind. Overnight in Hue.

Day 4: Hue – Sightseeing (B)

After breakfast, visit the impressive home of the Nguyen Dynasty emperors (1820-1945), the Imperial City and the Royal Citadel. Within the outer walls lies the Imperial City containing dynastic temples with the Royal Palace of the Forbidden Purple City at its centre. Much of the Citadel was destroyed during the Tet Offensive in 1968 but is gradually being restored. Later continue by boat on the Perfume River to the Thien Mu Pagoda, Hue's oldest and most beautiful pagoda, thought to be the symbol or religion and spirit of Hue people. Visit Tu Duc tomb and Khai Dinh Tomb. Each tomb is a unique expression of the monarch’s personality, usually planned in detail during his empire. Overnight in Hue.

Day 5: Hue – Departure (B)

After breakfast, you will be free until being transferred to the airport for your departure flight.
