About this activity
Enjoy the glow of a bonfire with a cup of tea or coffee, curl up with a book from our library or try out a traditional game of Bao. With wifi, unlimited soft drinks, snacks and a complimentary pick up at the Pugu Secondary School Bus Stop you will get a chance to relax before your evening flight out. Once you arrive at Karakana, you will be greeted with a welcome drink and cool cloth to refresh.
You will then meet your host and enjoy a traditional dance created by your two coordinators Vasco and Aziza. The dance entitled The Land is Ours: A Story of Reclaiming our Narrative and each Other” incorporates Sindimba, Yapatayapata, Bogobogomo dance styles and is a testimony to the human spirit of resiliency.
Relax on the outside lounge area with a cool drink and some snacks as you enjoy the performance. An English translation and one-on-one discussion with the performers will be provided.
After the dance is finished, enjoy either a continental or Swahili dinner and explore the curated selection of handicrafts from artisans across Tanzania. You are welcome to relax on the outside baraza (lounge area), or to enjoy a day bed or a drink at the tanga stone bar. Your experience will end with a drop off at the Pugu Secondary School Bus Stop, with a postcard connecting you to the community partners your experience supports.
