Itinerary Safari Mikumi Udzungwa

Day 1: Dar es Salam – Mikumi

This day you will depart Dar es Salaam after breakfast and drive across Uluguru Mountain, with a stunning landscape and local farms all the way. You will have a lunch break at Morogoro Town and thereafter drive to Mikumi.

After check in at Tan Swiss Lodge in Mikumi you will go for an afternoon game drive at Mikumi National Park. Mikumi is a small National Park nestling between the Uluguru Mountain and bordering Selous Game Reserve hence allowing the movement of animals in and out of the park.

You may expect to see animals like Elephants, Buffalo and Zebras which mostly migrate and forms a part of Selous Game Reserve Ecosystem, tree climbing lion can rarely be seen as well as the African wild dog, Eland and leopard. Other animals to be seen are wildebeest, Hartebeest, Impala, Warthog, Lion, Hyena and many more, bird life is also rich in this Park.

Day 2: Full day game drive at Mikumi

The best of Southern Tanzania safaris to the parks of Mikumi and Udzungwa Mountain 5 day continues, On this day after breakfast we take you again to Mikumi National Park for a full day of game drives. Break for lunch at your lodge with some rest before embark for the sunset Game drives. Afterward drive to Udzungwa Forest Camp at the foot of Udzungwa Mountain.

Day 3: Full Day of Hiking at Udzungwa Mountain

After Breakfast Safari Mikumi Udzungwa takes you for a full day of hiking trip at Udzungwa Mountain National Park,

Day 4: Morning at leisure – afternoon a trip to Kilombero River

After a leisurely breakfast, spend the Morning at the camp and after early lunch drive to Kilombero River for a canoeing trip which will include fishing. Kilombero River is home to Hippos and crocodile, some species of aquatic birds can be seen in this river. If time allows you can go for a village tour at Kilombero before driving back to the camp.

Overnight at Udzungwa Forest Camp. All meals included.

Day 5: Back to Dar es Salam

After breakfast start you will end up your Safari Mikumi Udzungwa by driving back to Dar es salaam, if you wish you can have some stops at the local weaving shops of baskets, mats and others. Lunch will be taken in one of the restaurant on the way possibly the local Nyama Choma, (local Beef Barbeque). Arrive in Dar es Salaam late afternoon.
