Day 1: NJP Rly Station/Bagodgra Airport – Darjeeling

Stop At: Bagdogra International Airport, Airport Road, Bagdogra, Siliguri, West Bengal 734421, India
Upon arrival at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station / Bagdogra Airport, our representative will meet you and transfer you to the hotel in Darjeeling. On arrival, check-in at the hotel. Rest of the day free. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2: Darjeeling Sightseeing

Stop At: Tiger Hill Upper Darjeeling, Darjeeling 734101 India
Your Darjeeling sightseeing tour includes the following activities:

Early morning visit to the Tiger Hill (8,400 ft) to witness the breathtaking sunrise over the Mt. Kanchenjunga (3rd highest mountain peak). Breakfast at the hotel. The toy train ride from Darjeeling to Ghoom. Ghoom Monastery (7,407 ft) - the oldest Buddhist monastery of Darjeeling built in 1850. Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (7,000 feet) built in respect to Sherpa Tenzin Norgay, who accomplished a climb to the Mount Everest (the world’s highest mountain) in 1953. Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park (7,000 ft) – the largest high altitude zoo in India. Tenzing Rock - a massive natural rock is named after Tenzing Norgay. Happy Valley Tea estate (6,900 ft.) where you see how tea is processed. Rangeet Valley Cable Car ride for a cable car ride over the the River Rangeet. Lunch at a local restaurant. Tibetan self-help centre (7,031 ft.) setup by Tibetan refugees in 1959. Gain a glimpse of Tibetan craft while you watch women weaving carpets. Japanese temple built in the year 1972 featuring a picture of Fujii Guruji, the founder of 'Nipponzan Myohoji' - a Buddhist order for world peace. Peace Pagoda that displays Lord Buddha in his four different forms. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3: Darjeeling – Gangtok

Stop At: Japanese Buddhist Temple, Rajbari, Darjeeling, West Bengal 734102, India

Day 4: Gangtok Local Sightseeing

Stop At: Ganesh Tok View Point, East District, Gangtok 737101 India
Your Darjeeling sightseeing tour includes the following activities:

Breakfast at hotel. Ganesh Tok (6,500 ft.) - a temple dedicated to Lord Ganesha. Ridge Park & Flower Exhibition Center - a wonderful stretch of various colorful flowers and plants. Best time to visit - April-May. Cottage Industry and Handicraft Centre wherein you can see Tibetan women engaged in weaving, crafting handlooms and designing woodcarving and paintings based on Sikkimese design. Namgyal Institute of Tibetology laid by 14th Dalai Lama in 1957. It comprises of a museum featuring coins, statues, thangkas (embroidered, hand-painted scrolls), Tibetan artworks, ancient manuscripts, and a Tibetan library. Lunch at the hotel. Dro-dul Chorten, a Stupa covered with a golden top dome built in 1945 by Trulshig Rinpoche, a respected Buddhist Lama. Enchey Monastery – around 200-years old monastery blessed by Lama Drupthob Karpo, an exponent of tantric art in Buddhism.

Day 5: Tsomgo Lake Sightseeing

Stop At: Tsomgo Lake, Jawaharlal Nehru Road Tathangchen Area, Gangtok 737101 India
After breakfast, visit Tsomgo Lake (12,400 ft). A deep glacial lake, surrounded by sandy brown hills, reflecting different colors with changing seasons. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 6: New Jalpaiguri Rly Station / Bagdogra Airport

  • There will be mandatory supplement for Gala Dinner on 24th December and 31st December night. Cost is not finalized yet by the hotel. We will update the amount once the same is finalized / near to the date of travel and will collect the payment accordingly.
  • For entering Sikkim a normal Inner Line permit is required.
  • This permit can be obtained on any one of the following procedures:
  • At the time of applying for the Indian Visa itself, the clients need to mention that they will visit Sikkim and accordingly a 15 days inner line permit is stamped on the visa.
  • On arrival in Darjeeling we need to produce the original passport with valid Indian Visa at the District Magistrates office and a 15 days inner line permit can be granted. It takes half day.
  • While entering Sikkim the permits can be issued on the spot at Rongpoo Check Post (while going to Gangtok) or Melli Check Post (while going to Pelling). It takes 20 minutes to 1 hour depending on group size. A serial numbered form at the check post needs to be filled and submitted along with photocopies of passport and Indian visa and 02 passport size snaps.
  • The following can be granted Inner Line permits to visit Sikkim ONLY by the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi or the Indian High Commissions abroad.
  • Foreigners travelling with Diplomat Passports/Official Passport like Red Cross etc.
  • Citizens from Bangladesh, Republic of China, Peoples Republic of China, Pakistan, Myanmar, Taiwan, Nigeria.
  • Required for clients travelling to North Sikkim Tsomgo Lake.
  • The attached form needs to be filled by the guest and scanned and sent along with scanned along with Sikkim Inner-line permit.
  • For the restricted area permit the scanned copies should reach us at-least 10 working days prior to the date of travel. The guest should carry all original documents with them as they may be asked for the same anytime for verification.
  • Single Pax Foreigners/NRI are not allowed to visit Tsomgo Lake.
  • Note:
  • We like to inform you that the road condition while traveling to West Sikkim(Pelling area) and other parts of this sector are in poor condition as there was highway extension work which was going on & it takes some time. It is very important to keep all guests traveling to this sector informed about the same to avoid the last minute disappointment.
