Day 1: Soft-sleeper Train from Beijing to Datong & Pickup from Railway Station

Pass By: Datong Railway Station Ticketing Office, 4 Zhanqian St, Datong Shi, Shanxi Sheng, China
You will take a soft sleeper train from Beijing to Datong by yourself. The train ticket will be delivered to your hotel in Beijing in advance. The train journey takes seven hours. Upon your arrival, your local guide will pick up you at the railway station and take you to the hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is free for you.

Day 2: Datong Highlights: Yungang Grottoes, Hanging Monastery

Stop At: Yungang Grottoes, Wuzhou Mountain, Urban Area, Datong 37000 China
In this morning, your tour guide and driver will pick you up from the hotel and take you to Yungang Grottoes. It is one of the largest ancient grottoes in China. Carved on the southern foot of the mountain, it has altogether 252 niches and 51,000 vivid Buddha statues, representing the splendid Buddhist grotto art of China between the 5th and 6th century.
Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Hengshan Hanging Temple (Xuankong si), Hengshan, Datong China
Here you will see the Hanging Monastery built more than 1500 years ago. As the name suggests, this monastery was enchased in the cliff of the mountain and now it still stands firmly. If you are interested in architecture, you should not miss this scenic spot since this temple is a miracle in this field.

After visit the temple, you will be escorted to your hotel.

Day 3: Datong Exit

Stop At: Huayan Temple of Datong, Daxi Street, Urban Area, Datong 037004 China
This morning, you will be escorted to the Huayan Monastery. It is the largest and best preserved temple built in the Liao Dynasty (907 - 1225). It is divided into two parts, including the upper and lower monasteries. You will see plenty of figures of Buddhist in the main hall in this two parts.
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Stop At: Nine Dragon Screen, Yanghe Street, Cheng District, Datong 037000 China
Here, you will see the earliest and largest one of the existing Nine Dragon Screen in China. The dragon in ancient China always represent the imperial power. You may explore the story and legend of the origin of the Nine Dragon Screen with the explanation of your tour guide.

Afterwards, you will be transferred to the railway station and see off.
