Cycle tour in Old Delhi
After early-morning hotel pickup at 5:30am, join your group and receive a safety briefing and orientation from your guide. Set out by 6:30am in order to skip Delhi's the notorious traffic congestion. Cycle through the 400-year-old web of alleys that make up the ancient walled city of Shahjahanabad (aka Old Delhi). Take in sights that remain little changed from the past along with the futuristic aspects of the city. Go through Turkman Gate and into the streets of the first wholesale market of Old Delhi, Chawri Bazaar. Stop for photo ops of Jama Masjid, tha largest mosque in India, and across the road, the World Heritage-listed Red Fort. Continue to Chandni Chowk, one of the largest wholesale markets in India and the oldest market in Old Delhi. A number of street vendors sell mouthwatering delicacies, although some shops are closed in the early hours. Next stop by the wholesale spice market of Khari Baoli, then pass by the historical Maidens Hotel as you pedal to the Old Delhi Railway Station. Learn about the architecture and importance of the Old Delhi Railway Station upon your arrival there. Finally, roll down the lanes of Chandni Chowk to reach Town Hall. On reaching Town Hall, proceed towards Gujarat Bhawan where you have breakfast, the final stop on your tour.
