About this activity

After being picked up from your hotel, you will set off on a cultural trail through the marvel of Delhi. Firstly, you will head to the famous Chattarpur Temple of Delhi with your guide. Located in the down town area of Chattarpur in South Delhi, the temple is a famous religious landmark made in honor of the Goddess Katyayani, a name of Durga.

Apart from the prime deity, the temple also features enthralling statues of the Goddess Mahishasurmardini, Lord Krishna, Lord Rama, Lord Ganesha, Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Hanuman, making the temple a storehouse of faith and religion in Delhi.

Your guide will introduce you to the rich heritage of the temple. Then, proceed towards the Qutub Minar – a minaret that forms a part of the Qutab complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The foundation stone of Qutub Minar was laid in 1199 CE by Qutbu'd-Din Aibak. Get to know the Mughal style of architecture as your guide helps you to understand the monuments and their significance.

Afterwards, you will be transferred to Old Delhi, the cultural part of the city. Move ahead to visit the exotic Indian spices at an Indian spice bazaar and explore the tangy flavors as you learn about their significance from your guide. Visit the Jama Masjid, India’s largest mosque and one of the last architectural works of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. Understand its history as your guide tells you the stories and legend of Delhi. Finally, no one leaves Old Delhi without a bite of its mouth-watering food. Go paratha hunting and devour the delectable flavors of Delhi. As the day comes to an end, you will be dropped back at your hotel.
