About this activity
Your tour starts with pickup by air-conditioned minivan from your accommodation in Bali. You will be taken to the horseback departure location, 20 to 30 minutes from the heart of Ubud (19 miles (30 km) from Denpasar or the Sanur area and 28 miles (45 km) from Ngurah Rai International Airport).
During your horseback ride, take in views of local agriculture and the rainforest of the Payangan area, and glimpse the traditional lifestyle of the local Balinese going about their daily routines. The people here live in harmony with nature, as birds fly among the rice fields and the sound of flowing water rejuvenates and relaxes.
You'll receive a lunch box containing nasi ayam kedewatan (Balinese spicy chicken).
1-hour experience for beginners:
Start with a 15-minute introduction and lesson before continuing with your 45-minute horse-riding adventure. Ride past green rice fields until you stop just before the residential village of Bukian. Round-trip distance is 5 miles (8 km).
2-hour experience for intermediate to advanced riders:
Head straight out on your horse-riding adventure, which takes you past rice fields right through Bukian. Round-trip distance is 12.5 miles (20 km), which can be increased at your guide’s discretion, depending on your group's speed and ability.
