About this activity
After meeting in the morning at Union Station in downtown Denver, head west through the Rocky Mountain foothills in your comfortable, air-conditioned coach. Learn from your guide about the history and geology of Denver's mountain parks, a system of more than 14,000 acres (5,665 hectares) of recreational land just outside the city.
Visit Red Rocks Park and walk around admiring the towering sandstone rock formations formed nearly 300 million years ago. The park's dramatic natural amphitheater is a popular venue for concerts and other special events. Travel up Bear Creek Canyon, passing idyllic mountain towns and keeping your camera ready for possible deer, elk and buffalo sightings.
On your way back to Denver, stop at Lookout Mountain and take in magnificent views of the surrounding hills and valleys. Here, visit the burial site of Buffalo Bill Cody and learn more about the Old West showman famous for his traveling cowboy shows during a guided tour of a museum in his honor.
Pass by Golden, Colorado, the home of Coors beer, on your way back to Denver. Your 4-hour tour ends with drop-off at Union Station
Denver Highlights Tour Upgrade (not included in the 4-hr tour option):
Following your morning mountain parks tour, have lunch (own expense) on your own before joining your guide for an afternoon round-up of top Denver attractions. I really enjoyed my full day of touring the mountain parks in the am and Denver city tour that afternoon. Jenn was our awesome driver and tour guide. She was very knowledgable and made both tours very enjoyable. I would have to say my favorite part was Lookout Mountain! I will definitely make it a point to revisit such a beautiful area!

Great overview of the local sites close to Denver with plenty of time at each destination. The guide delivered a lot of information during the driving. Only thing I would change is the pick up process which involved going out to the mall and delayed the day. However, being dropped off Downtown at the end of the trip was really helpful. The weather was cold and beautiful - the views were spectacular. If you don't have long and want a short trip this is ideal and good value for money

The Red Rocks is a sight to see. The different colors of the rocks and scenic view from afar were amazing. Definitely worth checking out. And seeing Downtown Denver is very nice. Just wished I had more time to explore it. Love the tour.

This was an excellent half-day tour in every way, and having spent a week in downtown Denver, mainly looking up, it was good to see the city from the mountains, looking down. Timely pick-up from our hotel, a comfortable little bus, and a very informative guide were most appreciated, as was the 'no extras' ethic, e.g. our entry to the museum was at no charge. We met some interesting fellow-passengers too. As a boy in the 1950s I read and watched the cowboy stories, and seeing the detailed history of Buffalo Bill and his associates was enlightening, for example his family's anti-slavery position, for which his father suffered. His tour folder was interesting too it showed that he visited towns close to ours in Lancashire, in the North of England. Thank you again. C. and V. Holmes
