Well worth the money, especially in a place where one expects nothing more than a little fishing history. Granted Destin isn't known for much more than its fishing history it's the fishing capital of Florida and it's sunny, white beaches. Our tour guide told us not only about that history but we got to go to old churches, see a tree that had to be 150 years old, we learned about the local development history and the who's who. We learned about how to short cut the traffic and even utilize the water taxi. That alone was worth the money because I didn't know about either. Water taxi? Felt like I was in Venice. He also took us into McGuires! This place has surprisingly good food and the entire ceiling is covered with One Dollar bills. It's really quite impressive. I'd never been to or even heard of Crab Island. We were able to access the bike/walking path on the bridge and get a bird's eye view. You know I went back there as soon as I could. We are new property owners in the Crystal Beach area. This was a quick way to learn some of the important facts to share with our guests. So glad we did this.
