About this activity
You will be picked up by your guide at your hotel in McLeod Ganj City, a suburb of upper Dharamsala, at 9:00 am and proceed to Triund.
Walk through the mixed forest of oak, rhododendron and deodar trees. The trail is well marked all the way up to Triund. From McLeod Ganj it is 3/4 hours steep ascent to Triund. Small tea shops on the way can provide good refreshments. Triund is an alpine meadow situates atop a flat ridge with fine views of peaks of Dhauladhars on one side an Kangra valley on the other side.
After light lunch at Triund start descending to McLeod Ganj. Take the same route on the way back or follow the grassy ridge which will lead to Bhagsu Nag Temple, after crossing a small waterfall on the way. McLeod Ganj is only 1.5 Km from the Bhagsu Nag by road. When the tour ends, you will return to McLeod Ganj City and be dropped off at your hotel.

The guide was incompetent and not caring at all... He has forgotten to advise us to take passports with us as they were supposed to be checked, he did not provide any good briefing in respect of hike profile for instance, hiking poles would be helpful for some of us but he did not even look, and they do not provide poles anyway. Good that we are more or less experienced hikers but for less experienced it would not be a joy probably?
Our tour guide was very knowledgable. The information on Viator about this tour was very minimal. Although we loved it, we were not prepared for the rugged terrain and also did not pack layers or a rain jacket that were need at the top. For the price we paid, we should have been fully informed on what to expect.
