Stop At: Chelsea Plaza Hotel - Satwa Roundabout - Dubai - United Arab Emirates

Chelsea Plaza Hotel was one of the first hotels in Dubai! Been around since 2nd December Street originated. In the early days, my parents and myself use to come here quite often. For their restaurants and bars. The hotel has grown old; however, it still has great recreational offers. We suggest checking this place out. However, for the sake of this tour, we suggest returning to the Chelsea plaza hotel once we discovered the entire 2nd December Street.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Satwa District, Satwa Al Satwa Rd, Dubai United Arab Emirates

SWEET ART RESTAURANT

Real street food can be found in this lovely budget Chinese fashion restaurant called Sweet Art Restaurant. Probably, one of the cheapest meals you will get in Dubai. They have interesting soups, recommendable Dim Sum and delicious Tokayaki (Japanese Street Food) if you like that taste. Have a nibble however not too much. We have Arabic food and incredible Pakistani dishes further down the road.

Duration: 45 minutes

HISTORIC ROUNDABOUT

Lets go back to 2nd December Street where we came. In earlier years, cars used to drive around this roundabout. If a window was open, you could expect a piece of paper thrown into the car including the telephone number of the lovely chap driving around the round about. Nowadays, it represents Dubai’s centre. In direction Abu Dhabi, it takes you to the shopping and repair district Satwa, in reverse it leads you to Bur Dubai and Deira. TIP - identify 3 graffiti Murals along the way to our next stop and use #streetlifeae to share your findings!

STREET ART

Across Al Mallah is another lovely street art mural, the UAE’s national animal, the Falcon. As we further explore the street, keep your eyes wondering from left to right of the road, and you will identify incredible artworks of every size and dimensions. Such as a portrayed of UAE’s Founder - Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, with then-Dubai ruler Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum by Emirati Ashwaq Abdulla, Arabic calligraphy by Dubai based El Seed, and other local artist such as Maisoon Alsaleh. Stop At: Truck Adda Restaurant, H.H. Shaikh Hamdan Award Complex,Jumeirah Road, infront of union flag, Dubai - دبي - United Arab Emirates

Delicious. Economical. Our top restaurant for an oriental Pakistani/Indian dish in entire Dubai. Although we have eaten several times, tried the entire menu, we cannot decide what to recommend – every dish is delicious. The food is half the experience. The indie-like set-up and homey vibe representing the colorful vibrant city life of Pakistan stops off the entire experience.
