Our driver was Shahjahan, he was very professional and an excellent driver, not to forget he took some amazing pictures of me and my family in the dessert.

What an awesome excursion! We were picked up promptly at 7 am at our hotel, as agreed the previous day. Another couple was picked up and we were on our way to the desert. Along the way, the guide pointed out various sights and provided additional context about things we were seeing. Once we arrived at the meeting point in the desert an hour later, we opted to do the quad bikes. There were people selling head scarves, which worked very well for us. The four of us then spent the next 30 minutes going up and down the dunes in the area, which was fantastic! There were maybe a dozen people riding, and it never felt crowded. From there, we proceeded into the desert for dune bashing and sandboarding. Our guide once again thrilled us with the unforgettable ride through the dunes in his 4x4 - we went up, down and sideways! Once we stopped at a top of a dune, and our kids tried their hand at sandboarding. They rolled down the dune several times, and proclaimed it was similar to snowboarding "but easier." We appreciated the fact that they could go down the dune multiple times and were not being rushed. Our final stop was a hut which had camels and falcon show. The falcon show was interesting - the guide explained how falcons hunt and why they remain loyal to the keeper (hint: it's the easy food supply). We then saw a falcon in action, "hunting down" a toy bird made of feathers. Lastly, we got on camels and rode around in a loop that was maybe 100 yards or so - sufficiently long. Afterwards, we made it inside the large hut where we were offered soft drinks, water, and coffee, as well as dates and pastries. While this is more of a description of what we did than a review, I can't say enough about the tour guide himself. He was pleasant, funny, talkative, considerate, knowledgeable... He made the tour fun. When we asked him about his job, he said he was doing it for 10 years - twice per day, he takes tourists into the desert - and he loves his job because he meets different people and gets to show them a good time!
