MELODY HOUSE

Melody House - the place to get all your music gear. Located on Music Street, near fish roundabout, is Melody House. This instrument shop is like Mecca for local artists. It was established in 1993 and this place specializes in guitars – from acoustic ones to the deep bass. Every instrument can be found at an affordable price.

AL BASTAKIYA

Al Bastakiya, AKA Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood is a place that reeks of the good old days. Originally, it was built for sixty housing units in the1890’s. Almost one hundred years later, Bastakiya was ordered to be demolished. British architect Rayne Otter started renovation of Bastakiya and involved Prince Charles to help with the preservation of the complex. The Prince of England however, openly suggested that Bastakiya should remain as is. This stopped the demolition plans, making it available for you to experience one of the oldest districts of Dubai. Dubai’s Municipality recently took over to restore and renovate the entire area, giving it a unique vibe and adding some contemporary touches such as street art.

ARABIAN TEA HOUSE

The main goal of the Arabian Tea House is to give you a feel for the proper Emirati life. From the moment you enter, you will be surrounded by pictures and artworks which reflect the life of the local people. The Arabic tunes will provide the perfect background to your mezze and karak tea. It is open from 8:00 AM- 10:00 PM which makes it a good stop for breakfast, dinner and everything in-between. If this place exceeds your budget, don’t worry as there are many options surrounding it.

MARINES CLUB

The interior of the club is made to mimic the nearby Port Rashid. That is why the main theme of the place is the aqua experience. If you enjoy cover music, this club will fulfil your needs. They are famous for their 10-person Filipino band that will swim deep into 80’s during performances. Marines club is definitely a great place to unwind, far away from the pretentious glitz and glamour but be determined not to pay the cover charge which they may try to impose.
