About this activity

The first stop will be at Kilkenny where you get 2 hours to explore the city where you can visit the Norman Kilkenny Castle that dates back to the 1100's. Here you can explore the gardens, watch a short film about the castle for free or spend the extra few euros to take a guided tour of the castle.

The castle is the signature symbol of the city and is majestically located on the banks of the River Nore. Alternately, you could pay to visit the Rothe House, a magnificent example of a wealthy silk merchant’s home built in 159 or you can just enjoy a walk on the cobbled streets of Kilkenny and visit the Black Abbey, the cathedral and much more. Kilkenny also has a proud food heritage and you will have the opportunity to enjoy lunch while in the city. After you will go to Glendalough, a secluded and wonderful spot just south of Dublin, one of the most beautiful sights you will see on a day tour. Explore the lakes, monastic ruined city, waterfalls, and other attractions the area has to offer. You will get around 2 hours to explore the monastic ruins and the lough itself.

Travelling through the Wicklow Mountains, the landscape will change from lush green rich pasture with gentle valleys, to the dramatic and the breathtaking ancient glacial valleys of the Wicklow Gap.
