Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, Bunratty Ireland

After a brief Limerick city tour, we head out to Bunratty Castle. The castle was completed in 1425 and, after many years of neglect, has been restored to its former glory. There is a folk park here and many of the buildings – including the village – were dismantled at various locations in the region and rebuilt, brick by brick, at their present location.

Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Stop At: Cliffs of Moher, Lislorkan North Latitude: 52.9714578 Longitude: -9.4247540, Liscannor Ireland

Enjoy some free time at the Cliffs of Moher - among some of the highest sea cliffs in Europe.

Duration: 2 hours

Pass By: The Burren House Farm County Clare, Ireland Ireland

From the Cliffs of Moher, we take the coast road for much of the way to Galway, with time for photos along The Burren. This is a national park and the word Burren comes from the Irish Language and means ‘rocky place’. It is a unique lunar landscape of limestone. Today the Burren is noted for its diverse flora with few parallels elsewhere in Ireland or, indeed, Europe. As time permits, we will make a short stop here for photographs.

Stop At: American House Eyre Square, Galway H91 PHK1 Ireland

Traffic dependent, there will be some free time upon your arrival in Galway to get some dinner and look at some shops, etc.

Duration: 1 hour

Enjoyed the train and bus combination. the WiFi was awesome for the bus, had taken a previous company and no WiFi, why is that helpful with social media connection I appreciate the good connection. The driver and tour guides were personable and entertaining

Wonderful experience of visiting the Cliffs of Moher among other stops during the tour. We started out with a rail trip to Limerick and then a Bus tour through the area. Had a great pub lunch in Doolin and got to see Burren national Park and a quick stop in Galway which is a lovely city to spend more time in. Took the train from Galway back to Dublin and got to mingle with the other guests on the tour. It was a fun experience and certainly not something one can plan out on their own. Well worth it. Francis on the train was a great and entertaining guide. He was able to keep us all in a great mood and share some Irish history and customs with us. David, our bus tour guide was very nice and patient with us as he was also able to provide us with more Irish history during our bus tour. Highly recommended. Please keep in mind, this will make for a 12 hour + day. Plan ahead to truly enjoy it!

A great tour by Rail Tours Ireland, 14 hours from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm, at good pace and not rushed. Mixture of rail + bus, the cliffs are spectacular, unfortunately weather not so good, heavy rain and windy. A heavy rain coat or wind jacket with attached hood is highly recommended. Tour guide Andy was great, funny and attentive, thanks to Mike for driving the tour bus most of the day in inclement weather, and Steven for escorting the whole group from early morning at Heuston station back to Heuston station in evening.

The tour is great and although seems long it does justice to the locations visited. The driver was fantastic, the tour folks are with you from board time to after you disembark. Definitely recommend the Railtours Ireland trips.

Wow what an amazing experience, great organization we really felt looked after, awesome lunch in Dooley fun bus ride and songs from Andy, the information of passing towns and landmarks was very interesting. The Cliff's were impressive and we scratched one off the bucket list! Thank you Andy!

This was our 3rd and final back -to- back tour in 3 days and was the perfect way to travel to see many locations. Leaving the transportation/driving to the tour group is highly recommended. We expected to have less time at each location since this was a tour group, however, I did not feel rushed at all. Manage your time expectations and you will not be disappointed! One tip for the train, make sure you know which way the train is going so you are not riding backwards. The train was great otherwise and we met 2 different groups (outbound and inbound). I would highly recommend this tour if you are ok with fast trips.

Jonathon was an amazing tour guide. His knowledge of the irish history provided an informative day. We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. We did feel a bit rushed through the stops but got to see a lot in what was already a long day. The guides might want to mention to the crowd that people generally keep the same seats throughout the tour. We got out at first stop, left items on our seats and someone took our seats before we got back on the bus splitting up our family as well as another family.

Rail travel was our favorite mode of transportation for group tours. It is so much more comfortable than a bus. The Cliffs of Moher were beautiful. A must see when visiting Ireland. Our travel guide was super friendly and informed us of the tour process each step of the way. It was very well organized.

This day trip starts at 640am and returns you at 9:47pm if the trains are on time which is hardly ever according to the guides. The first part of the trip takes you to a medieval farm town thing were they give you too much time to explore not a lot. Then they take you to this amazing pub for lunch. You'd go just to the pub for the day it was that good. Then onto the cliffs were you could easily lose 3 hours. Then they drop you into galway for dinner as you wait for the train back. The real highlight of the trip apart from the lunch stop is just the cliffs of moher. You could forego the rest.

An excellent rail/bus tour from Dublin to see the Cliffs of Moher, and included a tour of Bunratty Castle and time in Galway, Doolin and other minor stops along the way. The tour guide (David) was very nice and shared many insights into the history of the areas that were visited. Using rail for the long distance to the west and a bus for the local routes made for a very easy tour day. The coach driver was amazing on the narrow, winding roads.

So glad I decided to take the Rail tour vs. the bus tour. Bob was our guide, and he provided lovely stories and facts about the history of different cities without reading off of a paper. It made the experience all the more genuine. It's a long, but great day!

The tour was extremely organized and was a great value considering you get to see so much in a single day. It is a pretty high paced tour but most can handle it. We only had three days in Dublin and this really helped to make the most of our short time in this incredible country.

Actually a very good tour with Brendan. The Cliffs if Moher were astounding on a clear June day. The commentary was useful during the bus rides, though it got to be a slog towards the end. A long but pleasant day.

We booked this tour and did it with our kids ages 10 and 12. While it was a long day, everything we got to see was AMAZING! The cliffs are unbelievable! We also stopped at a nice little place for lunch and had plenty of time to take pictures at all of the stops. This is a wonderful way to see Ireland. Highly recommend!

Cannot say enough about how well- organized and efficient this attraction is. The train has clean restrooms; the connections all went smoothly with the guides we had; our tour leader, Brandon, was well-prepared, sharing stories all along the way! Enjoyed how the day was planned, frequent stops, time for pictures; great food at O'Connors for lunch. Great memories!

Most of the day was great. The drop off in Galway could have been planned better, to allow those leaving that evening time to get dinner and explore the city without being rushed.

We took this trip in March of 2017 and had really funny guides. I loved it so much that I am taking it again in a few weeks, but staying over in Galway rather than going to Dublin. the castle was much better than Blarney and the pub that we stopped at for lunch was great, along with the candy shop. The cliffs are awesome. You will enjoy.

This tour is amazing! It is a very long day because of the distance! The roads on the bus route are narrow, bumpy, winding in rural Ireland! Beautiful scenery any the landscape is fabulous! Andy was our exceptional guide he is amazing and so much fun. The train ride back to Dublin was easy and comfortable! Thank you
