About this activity
We will start by driving to the Peljesac peninsula, circa 1h drive from Dubrovnik. The first stop is a small, family-owned oyster farm where you will have the opportunity to taste some of the best oysters in the world! Also, our first wine tasting will be there with an introduction to wine tasting by WSET with basic food and wine matching principles (to get you fully prepared for more wines and food). Next, you will see the medieval historic town of Ston, famous for the second longest protective wall in the world (after Chinese Wall) and oldest salt factory of that kind in the world! After that, you will visit 3 great wineries, meet very interesting winemakers who are making world class wines and have master class tastings with some of them. You will also taste some local olive oils of great quality too and see some spectacular scenery during the day.
During the day you will learn how wine is made, different styles of wine produced today, factors which influence quality and prices of wines, sparkling wines and champagne style wines and lot more.
Later in the afternoon you will be treated with a three-course lunch(not included in price-additional 30 e cost) in a superb family run restaurant (of course with wine). You will visit Dingac vineyard, the best vineyard in all of Croatia and can be known as one of the most spectacular vineyards in the world!

I definitely enjoyed our experience at the 3 wineries and getting to eat fresh oysters from the sea. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly so the longer drive didn't seem so long with conversation. The only part that was maybe a waste of time was stopping in Ston. It is known for the salt they produce and the lengthy walls around the fortress but the town is nothing special and you don't even get to see the salt production up close. We had downtime in the town for a bit which is verrrrrrrrryyyy small and I felt it was a waste of time where most people just used the restroom and got an espresso.
We had a great time on this tour. The first stop was for fresh oysters pulled from the bay and served on the half shell with a squeeze of lemon - delicious! We like that we tasted a wide variety of wines throughout the day - from crisp whites to champagne, dry reds to dessert wines. Our guide was both knowledgeable and friendly. The best part of the day was meeting the other couples in our group. We are from California, one couple was from Ireland, another from South Africa and another from Norway. We had so much fun sharing stories of both our travels and our home countries and of course drinking and laughing together all day! That made the day extra special. Highly recommend you give it a try.
Wine guide was friendly and fun. Super small group, the fresh oysters and white wine combo at our first stop was kind of a surreal dream. Definitely learn quite a bit about the history of Croatian wine, with lots of samples and no hangover the next day!
Wonderful trip
