In the 15th century, this fort was connected with the city walls. Metallurgic foundry was discovered recently during process of restauration of Gornji Ugao Tower.
600 square metres of metallurgic zone, a forge, water basins, a sedimentation channel and other necessary infrastructure for production of gunpowder, bronze and tools. They used to produce cannonballs and bullets for export to the Mediterranean and the Balkans and this location was perfect as it was protected by the wall and separate from residential area. Enjoy the impressive historic foundry.
