Stop At: Kolocep Island, Dubrovnik Croatia

Kolocep island is the smallest settled island in the Elaphite Archipelago and the nearest one to Dubrovnik, it is just 20 minutes by boat from Port of Dubrovnik, in Gruz.

Clear blue sea surrounds the island. Since ancient times was known as island of fishermen and coral, and even today there is marked fishing area especially rich in lobsters. Locals traditionally spend the evening at the pier, catching fish from the shore.
Beach Gornje Celo on the island of Kolocep is beautiful sandy beach which leaves no one indifferent. Island of Kolocep is an island with more then 250 sunny days in a year and is very desirable tourist destination for its natural beauty and for the vicinity of Dubrovnik.
Things to see:
There are two settlements on the island, each in sandy bay - Gornje i Donje Celo, which is connected by walking trail, 3 km long. From one settlement to another it takes only 20 minutes walking. There are dozen km long of forest paths. Kolocep is one of the most indented croatian island with many hidden bays, in one of them you can find Blue Cave, in which you can enter only swimming.
During the time of the Dubrovnik Republic in Kolocep were manufactured ships, and even two crew members of Columbus Santa Maria were known sailors from Kolocep. Here were found the archaeological remains of ancient European conquerors - from Greece and Rome, until Napoleon. On the island of only 2.3 km2, is located seven pre-Romanesque church from the time.

Stop At: Lopud Island, Dubrovnik Croatia

Island of Lopud - island of captains, greenery and beautiful sandy beaches
This beautiful island is located on north-west from Dubrovnik and it is one of the Elaphite Archipelago. Lopud lies between two islands, and by our opinion it is the most beautiful.
In the past island of Lopud was island of captains, which gave Republic of Dubrovnik many famous sailors and captains. One of them was Miho Pracat. Golden age of Lopud was 15th century when counted more the thousand of inhabitants (today on the island has 220), that owned over eighty ships and the shipyard.
Coastline of the island is 11,5 km long, 1,2 km makes sandy beaches. Although the island has over 2584 sunny hours per year, natural spring water provide him green landscape with variety of trees, bushes, plants and many palm trees. Settlement Lopud is located on northwest side of the island and overlooks the island of Sipan. Two hills are connected by beautiful valley that leads to bay by the name of Sunj on the other side of the island.
Things to see:
One of the most beautiful beaches on Dubrovnik Riviera but also on the whole Adriatic coast definitely is beach Sunj on the island of Lopud. It is located on the south - east side of the island and is perfect for families with children just as well as people of all ages.
There are also 2 restaurants on the beach so there you can fresh up or enjoy some delicious meal.
On the island of Lopud there are many churches and chapels.
Rector's palace - Gothic-Renaissance palace from 1457., Franciscan Monastery from 15th century, and obligatory Park Dordic - Mayneri (known as former villa garden from 14th century, with incredible collection of plants, collected from all over the world) we recommend that you visit. Since the island was inhabited for thousands of years, here you can find many ancient Greek, Roman and Slavic structures and ruins.

Stop At: Sipan, Dubrovnik Croatia

Island of Sipan - island of sailors and Dubrovnik nobility
The island of Sipan is the largest of the Elaphite islands and most inhabited island.
Sipan is a long-stretched island cover with lush mediterranean vegetation, covered with olive trees, grapes, oranges, tangerines, figs, pomegranates and carob.
Kolocep Channel of 1,5 km length, divides the island from the mainland. Island is surrounded by many islets, numerous bays, crystal-clear sea.
Things to see:
During the Dubrovnik Republic era aristocracy and the wealthy built their summer houses as cozy refuge during the summer heat. On the island there are many small votive churches and chapels, because for centuries the island was inhabited by many sailors. Today, the majority of them are just ruins. In Sudurd, near the port, lies the renaissance castle of the family Stjepovic - Skocibuha, whose construction was started in 1529. Also worth visiting are the beautiful tower Pakljena built in 1563. and the Church of Holy Spirit in Sudurdwith a flat roof, largest of this shape on Adriatic.
