Montenegro: Budva and Kotor Day Trip from Dubrovnik
1 day
Full Day
About this activity
This is a full-day excursion to the picturesque country of Montenegro. Only an hour’s drive from Dubrovnik, Montenegro is awash with postcard perfect scenery, atmospheric mountains, and the azure Adriatic Sea. Guests will be collected from their hotel between 7:00 am and 7:45am.
Montenegro is the Mediterranean’s best-kept secret. Historically and culturally vast, the country has remained unspoiled by tourism for centuries. However, once you have experienced Montenegro you will return year after year. From medieval walled cities and historic buildings, to high adrenaline water sports, Montenegro has it all.
You will be transported to Budva. In 1979 the town was almost completely destroyed by an earthquake, but has since been rebuilt stone by stone in the Venetian style following the archives. Medieval city walls surround Budva’s famous old town and must-see sites include the church of St. John the Baptist and the Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity.
The next stop is the nearby town, an ancient port city of Kotor, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here you will receive a full city tour by a knowledgeable guide. Wander the medieval walled streets and learn about the Romanesque Cathedral of St. Tryphon. Stroll through the old town square and admire the 15th century Venetian architecture. You will have some free time to explore for yourself too.
At 3:45 pm you will be driven back to Dubrovnik. This is the perfect time to enjoy the stunning views whilst reflecting on all that you have seen.
