About this activity
On this tour, you will have the opportunity to choose between different locations such as Mostar, Kravica waterfall, Blagaj, Počitelj and Međugorje.
Mostar is situated on the Neretva River and its two parts are connected by the Old Bridge. The Old Bridge was built by the Ottomans in the 16th century, and is considered one of the most famous pieces of Islamic architecture in the Balkans. In fact, Mostar itself got its name after the bridge keepers (mostari) who guarded the Old Bridge in the medieval ages.
The Old Bridge stood for 427 years, until it was destroyed in 1993 during the Yugoslav Wars. It was reconstructed by the year of 2004 using the same stones.
Kravica waterfall is 40km south of Mostar. It is at high discharge in winter and spring, and at low discharge during the rest of the year, making it a great picnic and camping area.
Blagaj is a village south-east of Mostar, most famous for its mix of rural and urban structures. It is situated at the spring of the Buna river, and it is home to one Tekka, a Dervish monastery. Blagaj most likely got its name for its mild weather pattern (blag = mild).
Počitelj is a fortified village whose walls arose from the 16th to the 18th century. For this reason, the walled city of Počitelj displays both medieval and Ottoman architecture.
Međugorje literally means "between mountains". It is a town southwest of Mostar. After reports of apparitions of Virgin Mary to six local children, Međugorje became a popular Catholic pilgrimage site. It has turned into Europe's third most important apparition site, where each year more than 1 million people visit.
Please take note: It is not possible to see all of the aforementioned locations! Your guide will suggest you routes and locations, and you can pick the ones that suit you the best. You will spend between 4 and 6 hours the locations, depending on the route that you choose.
It is also important to note that this is a private tour; you will not share the vehicle with other people outside your group. The text above only lists recommendations; you are in full control of the tour.
