You will get to experience Scotland through its scenery, culture and history in this three day tour brought to you by one of our fantastic driver-guides. Depart from Edinburgh and day one will take you through the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. You’ll have to time to explore a picturesque villages perched on the banks of the loch. From here we’ll head a further north to one of the most beautiful places in Scotland, Glen Coe. Once sight of the gruesome MacDonald Clan Massacre; this glen of dramatic mountains and waterfalls will be a highlight of your Scottish trip. Your lunchtime stop will be in Fort William, many films were shot in or near this bustling Highland town. You can also take in views of Ben Nevis, the UK's tallest peak. Our day ends with a visit to one of Scotland’s most iconic castles, Eilean Donan (own expense). Perched on a small tidal island where Loch Duich, Loch Long and Loch Alsh meet, the backdrop to the castle is as unforgettable as the castle itself.

Overnight: Isle of Skye

After breakfast, your second day is dedicated to the Isle of Skye. Your experienced driver-guide will ensure you get the most out of your day on the island based on weather and your group. You’ll be able to enjoy a leisurely lunch (own expense) in the colorful harbor town of Portree. The rest of the afternoon will be spent taking you to various beautiful spots such as Kilt Rock, the Old Man of Storr and the opportunity to taste a few drams of whisky.

Overnight: Skye.

After another restful night of the Isle of Skye, we’ll journey off the island to Loch Ness, the deepest loch in the UK and home of the famous monster Nessie. There are many ways to experience the beauty and mystery, perhaps a Jacobite cruise (own expense) to see Urquhart Castle (own expense) or just monster spotting from the shore, the choice is yours! We’ll then make our way to Culloden Battlefield. Here you have the chance to stand upon the place of the famous 1745 battle, and learn about it in the interactive visitor centre (own expense). We’ll then journey south to the pretty town of Pitlochry perched on the River Tummel, before returning to the capital city of Edinburgh.

We had Erin as our guide and Fernando as our driver - they were wonderful. Erin is so bubbly and knowledgeable and friendly and Fernando went out of his way to include fun stops not on the itinerary so we wouldn't miss out! Our B and B accomodation was wonderful - very nice large room with up to date bathroom, English breakfasts and great location. They pack a lot into this tour, but if you are looking to get out and hike, then this is not the tour for that. It's a great overview tour of the Highlands and history but you spend a lot of time in the bus. Just makes me want to come back on my own now.

There is no argument that Skye is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been, but our guide Catherine was all business-like and boring, my single room in the B and B was so tiny that Harry Potter's cupboard is bigger than it!!

Firstly thank you to our tour guide John he was awesome, he drove the bus as well as look after 25 of us. Very good commentary. The scenery, rock formation and lochs are amazing it was one wow after another. Our BnB was excellent. Thanks to Kathryn and Alex.

The tour was amazing esp Davie, need to give him 5 or more stars. But unfortunately the higher price for the tour was paid higher for an Ensuite accommodation to accommodate my family (husband . wife and 7 years daughter) in a single house with 2 separate rooms. Which was communicated to the Viator telephone assistant whilst booking but we were provided 2 separate rooms with shared bathroom and was very uncomfortable to manage ourselves and the child for shower / toilet. Further before to the tour the Highland experience tours called us for the same but since the tour was important and during the last few hours /day of travel clearly mentioned our concern but was of no use. Request you to kindly look and act accordingly. Regards Mayur Shejwadkar (0044 7895 111 351).

Our recent trip on the 3 day Isle of Skye: + Our guide John and driver Sola ensured that we were well taken care of had a great experience. + John was very knowledgeable and his love and pride in his heritage shone through his interesting anecdotes and historical information of the places we visited. + I am sure all of us eagerly awaited the 'bad joke ' of the day, which kept us amused and entertained on the coach! + Our host, Donald, at the B and B in Isle of Skye was very welcoming, friendly and a perfect host! The location and views were spectacular. - The tour could have been better planned as we spent a lot of time on the coach on the second and third day of the tour. - The second day included a visit to Portree where we were given a lot of free time, which we could have used to do a whisky tour on our own as an option. We spend a couple of hours sitting in the town square as there is not much to see or do in Portree. - We were looking forward to the whisky tour/tasting which didn't happen although we had expressed a keen interest for the same before the start of the tour.

When we booked this trip we were under the impression it was for a small coach tour with 16 people. It turned out to be 27 people. The driver/guide was really just a driver. He was an excellent driver and took us to some very beautiful places but there was very little in the way of information provided. We asked if the company had provided him with information or history to share and he reported that they had him ride along with one guide and the rest he was supposed to get from learning about it on his own. He put on a couple of recordings that had history and said he had gotten those from another driver. It would have been fine if all the information was given via recordings but he only had a couple. We were expected to read about the places on the plaques that were at each place which were limited. The trip was still nice because we had good weather for the most part and the scenery and castles and sites were really awesome. The bed and breakfast we stayed at was adequate but not wonderful. They did not provide a hot breakfast like all the other bed and breakfasts we stayed at while in Scotland. They did provide a nice cold breakfast though. I recommend going on a tour like this but call the company to verify details or book with a different company. We do not blame the driver at all - he was very nice and an excellent driver but the company should have provided him more training or even better provided an actual guide.

Definitely need to stay near Edinburgh Castle before and after tour for ease of pick up and drop off. Tour was great and our driver Brian was super.

Garry was our tour guide and the 16 passengers who joined his tour had the most memorable tour of the Scottish Highlands. He was very knowledgeable of the areas we toured and educated us on topics such as History, sustainability, forna and flora unique to this magical land. There was never a dull minutes with Gerry as he constantly kept us entertained with humor and music through the journey. The 16 passengers who left with him came back as fun loving friends with a bag full of memories

We took the three day tour to the Isle of Skye with Barney from Highland Experience tours. Barney was amazing! We saw castles, waterfalls, highland coos, cairns, and some amazing sights. I wish it would have been a 5 day tour so we could have had more time at some of these amazing places. Whisky tasting at the Tomatin distillery was also great!

So this excursion was good at times and just so so others. Our guide was very pleasant and there were about 12 of us on the tour. Would I do it again, my wife and I say probably not. Day 1, lots of time driving with very quick sight seeing stops. Beautiful scenery as you enter the highlands. Visited Eilean Donan castle, which was great, but not enough time. You get there at the end of the day close to closing. Visit the castle over maybe 1 hour, quickly walk back to gift shops and bathrooms to find out closed before castle did. For 3 days anytime you stop always go to restroom bc you never know when you will get the chance again. Definitely dont believe time to explore any specific stops. All sightseeing stops you need to get off bus and quickly see sights. My wife enjoyed day 1 bc of highland beauty and bc of the castle. Day 2 we didn't really like bc no real big stop like a castle, or extended time at a neat spot to anchor the day. A bunch of neat, but rushed photo stops at old man stor and other natural spots. Day 3 visited cullodean battlefield which was almost a waste. You get headsets to go through exhibits, but about 1 hour 15 mins to go through it, try to walk on battlefield (nope), have to use bathrooms, and eat lunch. This is what I mean by not enough time anywhere. The longest stop for 3 days was probably 1.5 hours and that always meant eating, bathroom, sightseeing, and shopping. We also saw Urquhart castle that day which was cool (but wife and I spent 20 mins in gift shop so had to rush through the castle), then cruised on lochness for 30 mins which was nice. Getting off the boat expected to go straight to bus so everyone ran to bathrooms and no time for lochness gift shop. Accommodations were ok. Every family in our group had to stay at different locations spaced out by about 35 mins. No one knew where we were staying until told to exit. 2 places didn't look great at all. Get dropped off around 5pm but entire towns closed by then. Probably 3 dinner options with long waits and then nothing to do for remaining evening. Our BnB was fine but host got rude when we left room with a light on and wanted to know why Americans always leave lights on and lectured us after saying sorry and must have forgotten. Overall was ok. Nice scenery, but long, and need more time at stops. Again, driver great. Would be better if an additional 1.5 hrs added to time for each day and hotel drop off pushed back since town closed up anyway.

If you get on this tour when the weather is good it is stunning! We lucked out that all days were awesome. If not it would definitely not have the same sense of aww. The tour operator Highland Experience was excellent and the accommodations they provided us was excellent.
