Day 1: Explore Outlander Filming Locations

Stop At: Blackness Castle, Blackness, Linlithgow EH49 7NH Scotland
Blackness Castle featured as Fort William in the Outlander TV Series. We visit inside the castle with your guide giving you a short history and Outlander demonstration before allowing you to explore the castle on your own.
Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Midhope Castle, Near Abercorn, South Queensferry, Edinburgh EH52 6QZ Scotland
Midhope was the location of Lallybroch for the filming. We take a walk down to the castle passing by other notable Outlander filming sites on the way such as the Outlander Cave.

Please note that the castle sits on a private working estate and as such access may be denied at any time out with our control. It is closed to the public between December and April.
Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At: Falkland Community Hall, Back Wynd, Falkland, Cupar KY15 7BX, UK
We visit Falkland which was used as the filming location for Inverness. We tend to have our lunch stop here as well and spend some time seeing the village square and quaint shops along the way. We do not visit Falkland Palace however, if anyone wishes to experience it, they can while the rest of the group have lunch and they can meet up with the group afterwards.

We do not visit Falkland during the winter months due to reduced daylight hours and opening hours at some of the other attractions, at this time, we will visit Linlithgow Palace instead. (Admission to Linlithgow Palace not included)

Stop At: Doune Castle, Castle Hill, Doune, Stirling FK16 6EA Scotland
We visit Doune Castle which was used as Castle Leoch, the MacKenzie Castle. Your guide will provide a short history demonstration before allowing you to enjoy the rest of your visit using the audio guides (included in your admission ticket).
Duration: 45 minutes

Stop At: Royal Burgh of Culross, A985, 4 Miles East of the Kincardine Bridge, Culross KY12 8JH Scotland
We finish up this day at Culross which has been used for 3 seasons of Outlander so far and rumoured to be used again for Season 5. Your guide will take you on a walk to the Mercat Cross, which was the location for Crainesmuir, where Geillis Duncan lived before finishing up in the Townhouse. Once in the Townhouse, you will receive a short historical demonstration whilst having the chance to view the fantastic photography artwork on display by resident Photographer, Graham Harris Graham.

Day 2: A Fantastic Day Exploring Many Season 2 Locations

Stop At: Hopetoun House, South Queensferry, Edinburgh EH30 9SL Scotland
We begin with a visit to the Hopetoun House which was used for much of Seasons 1, 2 and 3 of Outlander. Most notably, it was used as the Duke of Sandringham's residence in Season 1 and many Paris scenes in S2.

Your guide will prove a guided walk through the house and gardens pointing out historical significances and Outlander sites.

The house is closed in the winter months. We will visit the Bakehouse Close (Printshop in Outlander) on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh as an alternative.
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Stop At: Linlithgow Palace, 9 Kirkgate Sulisker, Boghall, Linlithgow EH49 7AL Scotland
We then make our way to the nearby Linlithgow Palace which was used for Wentworth Prison in Outlander. Linlithgow Palace is also well known for being the birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots and arguably the grandest of all the Royal Palaces in Scotland.

In the Winter months, we visit Linlithgow on Day 1. At this time, we will visit Rosslyn Chapel in its place. Although Rosslyn is not significant to Outlander, the chapel is fascinating and the Glen below was used for filming in Season 1. Your guide will point this out. (Admission not included)
Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Callendar House, Callendar Rd, Falkirk FK1 1YR, UK
Callendar House was used to film the scenes where the Duke of Sandringham loses his head. We enjoy a lovely lunch in the tearooms here and you can witness what an 18th-century kitchen would have looked like in the "Georgian Kitchen" inside.

Stop At: Drummond Gardens, 2 miles south of Crieff on the Muthill Road (A822) Drummond Castle, Crieff PH7 4HZ Scotland
The last place we visit on this day is the Drummond Castle Gardens near Crieff. The gardens are absolutely spectacular and were used as the location for "The Gardens of Versailles" in the filming.

You will have the opportunity to explore the gardens at your leisure after a short Outlander and history explanation from your guide.

The gardens are only open in the summer months. During the winter timetable, we will visit Craigmillar Castle near Edinburgh as an alternative. (admission not included)

Day 3: A journey into the Highlands

Stop At: Heathergems, 22 Atholl Rd, Pitlochry PH16 5BX, UK
Our first stop on the day will be at the beautiful town of Pitlochry for a rest stop and the option of visiting the Heathergems Factory (free entry) and shop.
Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Highland Folk Museum, Aultlarie Croft Kingussie Road, Newtonmore PH20 1AY Scotland
We will visit the Highland Folk Museum (only open in the Summer season) where you can see where the Rent Episode in Season 1 was filmed. It is a fantastic open-air museum and there is the option to explore some of the other exhibits too.(Entrance to the museum is on a donation basis).

Stop At: Culloden Battlefield Visitor Centre, Culloden Moor IV2 5EU Scotland
We will then make our way to the Culloden Battlefield Battlefield and Visitor Experience. We tend to have our lunch here in the canteen which offers quick and tasty meals at an affordable price. We allow you then to enjoy the visitor centre at your leisure before meeting you for a tour with your guide on the battlefield.

Stop At: Clava Cairns, National Grid Reference: NH 757 444 off the B9006, 6 km from Inverness Scotland
We then enjoy a short stop at the Clava Cairns which are around 4000-year-old standing stones and burial cairns only a few miles away from Culloden.
Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: The Hermitage Woodland Walk, Just off A9 at Dunkeld, Dunkeld Scotland
On our return, we will make a rest stop at the Hermitage near Perth It is a short woodland walk through passing waterfalls and streams, a wonderful way to end a day in the Highlands.
