About this activity
Our Greyfriars Kirkyard Projector Tour is a refinement of our summer ‘Resurrectionists Tour’. There we used A3 booklets to show you which characters were buried under some of the tombs and monuments; now we can take it a step further! Over the Winter months, our projector tour lets us shine an image of the person buried here directly on the ground in which they lie or, on a nearby tomb.
These special effects aren’t used as a gimmick. We use the projectors respectfully; Greyfriars is Church of Scotland ground and, importantly; these people are buried here!

Robert ,our guide, is personable, knowledgable and entertaining as well as a genuine history nerd, which was ideal for our party. Instead of the cumbersome books most tours tote around he uses a small projector that travels with you as he leads you through the kirkyard telling tales. Wear comfortable shoes as you do a lot of walking in an old graveyard- meaning it's uneven and can be muddy depending on the weather. Also be aware that this isn't the tour where actors pop up from behind tombstones- which was perfect for our party, that isn't my idea of a good time. I enjoyed the tour so much we booked one of the other tours the company offered.
