Stop At: Glengoyne Distillery, Glasgow, Scotland
Bold, complex flavours from the slowest stills in Scotland matured in only the finest casks. Safe from the reach of the Law, Glengoyne was started as an illegal still on Burnfoot farm in 1820. Here you will try the 12 and 18 year Old Glengoyne whiskies.
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes
Stop At: Deanston Distillery & Visitor Centre, Stirling, Scotland
The story begins with the opening of a cotton mill, known at the time as Adelphi. Chosen for its location on the banks of the River Teith. The cotton industry declined,Deanston Mill closed its doors. In 1974 it opened it's doors again as a Distillery. Using Scottish grown crops, the malted barley is sourced from local farmers, before being milled into grist and tested by hand, to ensure the perfect mix of quick and slow natural sugars. Here you will take lunch and the Classic Tour tasting of Deanston 12 year old and Virgin Oak.
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes
Pass By: Lake of Menteith, Trossachs, Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, Scotland
Driving from Glengoyne to Deanston Distillery you will travel though some pretty scenery. Passing along the Lake of Menteith you will hear about Robert the Bruce and Mary Queen of Scots.
