Kingsbarns Distillery, sits on a charming converted 18th-century farmstead on the edge of the North Sea. At the visitors centre, learn about the history of the area then go behind the scenes of the distillery and learn about the process of making the whisky. At the end of the tour head to one of the tasting rooms to sample a dram for yourself. Not a drinker? Have a cup of coffee and homebake cake or scone at the café instead. Stop in to the shop afterwards to pick up a bottle of whisky to take home, at your own expense of course.

After arrival in St Andrews at around 12 noon, make the most of your free time to visit the Cathedral ruins and perhaps also the Castle ruins before enjoying lunch in one of the many cafés or pubs in the quaint university town (own expense).

You will have 3-4 hours free time in St Andrews, not just at the Golf courses, but in the town, so you can explore the little alleyways, the Castle ruins, quaint shops and take in the architecture of this old town, some buildings dating back to the 16th century. maybe find a place to eat lunch and do some people watching
