10 Day Trip to Southern Patagonia in Chile and Argentina

Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer from airport Punta Arenas to Hotel in Puerto Natales

Pass By: Presidente Carlos Ibáñez del Campo International Airport, Aeropuerto Presidente Carlos Ibáñez del Campo, KM 20,5 - RN9 Norte, Punta Arenas, Región de Magallanes y de la Antártica Chilena, Chile
Private Transfer from airport Punta Arenas to Hotel in Puerto Natales.

No meals included on this day.
Accommodation included: Overnight at IF Patagonia or similar hotel.

Day 2: Torres del Paine National Park and Cuevas del Milodón

Stop At: Torres del Paine National Park Chile
On this day, we will visit the Milodón Caves, famous for its fossiles of Milodón (an ancient creature) and big caves. We then move to the National Park Torres del Paine where we will visit several viewpoints to take pictures of the amazing Torres mountains, from different perspectives.
Duration: 8 hours

Day 3: Sailing to Glaciers Serrano and Balmaceda

Stop At: Serrano Glacier, Torres del Paine National Park Chile
On this full day Sailing we will sail the Señoret Channel from where we will have the opportunity to see Balmaceda Glacier from the boat. Later we will disembark to do a short hike to the viewpoint of Serrano Glacier. On the way back, we do another stop to enjoy a delicious Patagonian lunch.

Day 4: Bus from Puerto Natales to El Calafate

Pass By: El Calafate Bus Terminal, Antoine de Saint Exsupery 87, Z9405 El Calafate, Santa Cruz, Argentina
Transfer to bus terminal in Puerto Natales to take regular bus (5 hours approx) to El Calafate. You will go through Customs, so check you have all the documentation needed to enter Argentina.

Day 5: Glacier Perito Moreno with Ice Trekking

Stop At: Parque Nacional Los Glaciares, Avenida Del Libertador 1302, El Calafate Z9405AHY Argentina
On this day, we will do a full tour to visit the Glacier Perito Moreno from the several viewpoints installed in the Visitor´s area. We will also take a short sailing on the South wall of the glacier, to a spot from where we will put on the crampons and start a 1 hour and a half Ice Trekking on the glacier.

Day 6: Estancia Cristina Full day Discovery sailing and 4x4

Stop At: Parque Nacional Los Glaciares, Avenida Del Libertador 1302, El Calafate Z9405AHY Argentina
Today we will sail through the Lake Argentino to sightsee the Upsala Glacier, the largest in the park, and its iceberg barrier. Once at the Estancia, we will enjoy lunch and then board on 4x4 vehicles for a ride that will take us to a priviledged natural viewpoint of Upsala glacier. Sail back to El Calafate.

Day 7: Bus from El Calafate to El Chaltén

Pass By: El Calafate Bus Terminal, Antoine de Saint Exsupery 87, Z9405 El Calafate, Santa Cruz, Argentina
Transfer to bus terminal to take regular bus to El Chaltén (3 hours approx.)

Day 8: Trekking to Laguna de los Tres Fitz Roy Base

Stop At: San Martín, El Chalten, Santa Cruz, Argentina
Today we will hike the most famous trail in El Chaltén: Laguna de los Tres, a 9 hours (round trip) trekking that will take us through amazing landscapes up to the lagoon and base of the Fitz Roy. The last part is very steep, so it is not recommended for people without good physical condition.

Day 9: Lago del Desierto Sailing and Trekking

Stop At: Lago del Desierto, Argentina
Lago del Desierto is located 37 Km from El Chaltén. We will sail its waters for half an hour and later start a 2 Hour trekking to viewpoints of Glacier Vespignani and Fitz Roy.
Duration: 6 hours

Day 10: Bus from El Chaltén to El Calafate

Pass By: El Calafate Bus Terminal, Antoine de Saint Exsupery 87, Z9405 El Calafate, Santa Cruz, Argentina
Regular bus from El Chaltén to El Calafate (3 hours). Transfer to airport to continue your trip. Take into account that you should take flights after or around 2 pm (otherwise an additional night will be necessary).
