This is a great tour and such good value for money compared to other tours we did. The city is beautiful, interesting and so different to Agadir and Marrakech so even if you are doing those trips, it’s still worth travelling to Essaouira. Our guide Hassan was fantastic - informative and friendly whilst simultaneously conducting the tour in 3 languages to accommodate the English, French and German speakers who were amongst the group. It was very impressive! The tour started at 7:45 - we were slightly late (only by 15 mins) being picked up but when I messaged the company, they replied immediately to assure me that the coach was on its way. We then travelled through the mountains to essaouira. A word of warning, the roads are very windy so can be tricky if you suffer from travel sickness. Be sure to take anti sickness tablets beforehand! As described, we stopped to see the flying goats as well as a cafe stop and a stop at an Argan Oil cooperative to see the women producing the oil as well as having an opportunity to buy some products (although there’s no pressure to buy). When we arrived in Essaouira, our guide conducted an hour and a half tour around the city, showing us the port, souk, scala and Jewish quarter. He then took us to a restaurant which he recommended for lunch (nice food, cheap prices - cost us about £12 for 2 people’s food and drinks plus 20% tip) and then we had a couple of hours free time to explore the city ourselves and shop at the souk (one tip is that if you are doing this trip and a marrakech trip, try to buy your souvenirs in Essaouira as the same items are significantly cheaper - we saw the same scarf for a third of the price in Essaouira!) We then met the coach at 4pm to travel back to Agadir. The one thing mentioned on the tour description which we did not get was the stop at the wild beach at sunset. We didn’t mind too much as we were tired and happy to just continue back to Agadir but if you are particularly interested in this part of the tour, maybe message the company to check if they are running this feature (they’re very helpful and quick with messaging back). Overall this was a fantastic trip, one of the highlights of our holiday. I’d definitely book with this company again - as I’ve said above, they were friendly, had excellent communication and put together a great tour of a fascinating city.
