About this activity
After picking you up at your Estes Park Hotel we will head out over Trail Ridge Road to enjoy the world of the tundra and to start seeing Elk and amazing views of the Rockies in the early evening. While on Trail Ridge we will look for Bighorn Sheep and also spot small mammals like the lovable Marmots and Pika that call the tundra home. We can also view waterfalls through the scope. There are a number of other small mammals and birds, great history, and amazing view to experience along the way. We will search on the western side of Rocky to look for Moose, and usually more views of Elk sometimes right out the window. As we run out of light we will drive back over Trail Ridge as it get dark to see the city lights of the front range turn on in the distance and get back to finish a great evening.

Each tour is customized for you, so be sure to share your goals in our communication before confirming the tour.

Please note Grizzly Bears and Wolves are not found in Colorado, and Black Bears are extremely rare, we only see a dozen a year usually.

Travel in a Premium level Hyundai Santa Fe with panoramic sunroof, heated leather seats, and windows that roll down all the way.

Binoculars are available for each person as well as use of a spotting scope to really bring those distant creatures into view.

There are a number of stops where we can use the park restrooms.

Tours are limited the 4 guests, and children must be age 12 or up.

In the summer time be prepared for temps between 30-70 degrees F, yes 30! Don't wear shorts, and always bring a jacket. Also be sure to drink plenty of water both in the days before your trip to Colorado and while your here (4 bottles a day), and for morning tours eat breakfast to prevent altitude sickness. Bring along water and a snack, we will have extra water and granola bars for you as well.

National Park entrance permits are not included with the tour, as many guests already have a permit or lifetime pass. If you need they can be purchased at the National Park gate. Most mornings we are in so early guests do not need a permit unless we have an extended moose adventure.
