Benagil Express Tour

Upon arrival at Naval Club in Portimão, you can find two different places of embarkation (in front and to the right of our Reception area). The boarding process will be carried out by the Skippers of the vessels (there are always two), with the support of the human resources colleague.

Inside our boats, passengers shall use impeccably maintained new generation life jackets, which use is mandatory, according to the current standards of safety in navigation in force.

The Benagil Express is a 1h 15 minute boat trip from Portimão to the Benagil cave. There is time to visit the interior of 3 caves by boat and explore the sinuous lines of the coastline; get some great photos, relax in the sun. Suitable for the mobility impaired, the Benagil Express trips are one of the best ways to see the Benagil cave, but to also explore the coastline.

It is within this exceptional setting that we highlight the Arade River, which rises in the Serra do Caldeirão and flows into the Atlantic Ocean, in Portimão, east of Praia da Rocha. The picturesque fishing village of Ferragudo (among the 20 most beautiful in the country). The Fort of S. João do Arade also known as Ferragudo Castle, built in the 19th century. At the exit of the bar (lighthouse of Ferragudo and Portimão) on the left side we can see the lighthouse of Ponta do Altar, with 32m. Some beaches with white sand and crystalline waters such as the following: Praia da Rocha; Grande; Pintadinho; Caneiros; Afurada; Paraíso; Carvoeiro (considered the most beautiful in Europe in 2018); Vale de Covo; Carvalho; Benagil (world’s most famous grotto, formed by erosion, about 20 million years old, with its official name: Algar de Benagil);

The Benagil Express runs every day, all year long. The location is next door to Portimão Museum (We recommend a two in one - take the Benagil Express and visit the museum too - well worth it). At the meeting point there is a shaded and air conditioned reception, WC and luggage storage area. Advance booking is recommended.
