About this activity
Arrive at our dog kennel 15min prior to the tour start. The 35-45min drive from Fairbanks is easy and very scenic with views of Denali, the Tanana River, and the rugged glaciated peaks of the Alaska Range (weather permitted).

At the kennel you will be welcomed by our musher/guide who will check your gear and will outfit you with complimentary clothing in case you are underdressed. Please bring hat, gloves, scarf/neck gator, winter boots, snow pants and jacket.

Next you will be introduced to our friendly huskies who will love to get your attention. If we have puppies, of course you are welcome to meet and pet them as well. After you made friends with your four-legged mushing companions, you will be instructed to help harness your dog team, how to ride in the sled, and of course there is time made for any pictures with the dogs and guides.

Now that you got some good instruction you will start the journey as dogs are eager to run. You will start right from our kennel who's back yard access some of the wildest land accessible only in the winter time. You head out on a 10 mile spectacular ride through boreal forests, over lakes and tundra, and its very possible for you to see some Alaska's famous wildlife. You will get opportunities to take photos from the sled as well as on a few of the short stops along the way.

After about an hour of a ride you will return back to the kennel where hot drinks and like snacks are waiting for you in our beautiful lodge!

You are welcome to stay and chat with the mushers and head back to your next adventure (ice fishing, snowmobiling, or Aurora Viewing) whenever you are ready!
