Catamaran Sail and Snorkel in Fajardo
Enjoy a day sailing and snorkeling aboard the Fun Cat Catamaran. Sway to the sound of island music as you sail along the clear water cays of La Cordillera Nature Reserve. This one-of-a-kind sailing adventure includes professionally guided snorkeling, the coolest relaxation/hangout spots on a boat, and a sumptuous lunch buffet with unlimited Caribbean rum drinks! This experience is a prefect combination of Puerto Rico’s most beautiful tropical sites and fun activities.
The boat departs the docks of Marina Puerto Chico at 10:15am, and sets sail along the historical coastline of Fajardo, in direction to Icacos Cay. Feel good music and interpretation from the captain of the different landmarks along the way sets the pace of a great day. Forty-five (45) minutes into our sail we arrive to the Reef at Icacos, where preparation for the best guided snorkeling in Puerto Rico begins.
At the reef, gear is distributed and the Fun Cat Crew will give complete, easy to follow, snorkeling instruction covering use of equipment, safety and etiquette. Then, off to the water we go! Your guides will lead the way to show you the best spots on the reef, explain the underwater ecosystem, provide security, and take you to see the coolest marine life on the sea floor. Starfish, schools of blue tangs, yellowtail snappers, sergeant majors, parrotfish, filefish, eagle rays, and occasional turtles are some of our most common encounters. The abundance of marine life at Icacos Reef is absolutely amazing! Back on the boat the snack bar is open along with complimentary refreshments and soft drinks.
Following the snorkeling session, the crew detaches from the mooring and the captain leads Fun Cat to the stunning white sand beach of Icacos. A sea ladder provides easy access to the shallow, crystal clear water, and then its time to eat, drink and relax on the tropical island paradise of La Cordillera Reserve.
The lunch buffet opens up with a hearty fresh selection that will hit the spot, and tasty tropical drinks are on the house. The Fun Cat is set with good tunes, fun staff, and open sun decks for a nice tan. Guests can explore the island of Icacos on their own, taking in the breathtaking white sands and clear turquoise waters, or go with one of our crew to continue exploring the natural wonderland.
At about 2:45pm it’s time to retrieve anchor and begin our leisurely sail back to Marina Puerto Chico. At this time friends have been made, the bar is still open, uncoordinated dancing may occur and everybody is talking about how much fun was had aboard the Fun Cat!
