About this activity
Itinerary

After arriving to Ceiba we will begin with a 25-30 minute hike, that includes a brief river trek. Once entered at the skirts of the forest you will have a complete off the beaten path experience where you will have climb thru rocks and trees to reach the pristine natural pools and waterfalls. Here you can also swing from a rope or cliff jump. We will spend some time here before proceeding to the next stop, a more advanced hike to higher natural pools that leads to the exciting natural waterslides. We then have to return thru the same off beaten path, sometimes returning by water (swimming) is an option too.

During all this time your certified guide will share important information about the only tropical rainforest in the US Forest System, as well as interesting facts about Puerto Rico's culture and history, while ensuring you have a safe, fun and knowledgable experience.

Duration: 4 hours

Location: El Yunque Rain Forest, El Yunque National Forest Puerto Rico

After we conclude the tour, before returning to San Juan, we will make a stop to have a local lunch (food cost not included). Restaurant used may vary, but range per person tends to be $8-$15, depending on what you order.

Duration: 1 hour

Location: Luquillo Beach, Luquillo Puerto Rico

We had a nice hike through the forest. Waterfall was popular, even in the offseason.

Alex is an excellent guide. He is friendly, responsible and caring. He knows a lot about botanic. I am a biologist, and Alex has a great biology background. He is knowledgeable about the rain forest ecosystem, fauna and flora. Outstanding performance.

Our tour started with a pick up at our hotel from our tour guide Norma around 10am. She was so friendly and extremely informative. We headed to the El Yunque visitor center where Norma showed us around then we drove to the hike. It was not difficult but wear sneakers because you will walk a lot and some of it uphill. Bring that camera! The best part was the waterfall...it was crowded but what an experience! Bring water shoes and be careful with the rocks. Norma brought us to Yokahu tower where we climbed to the top not very high and enjoyed the views. We then had a fantastic Puerto Rican lunch at a nice little restaurant and they even had a vegetarian option. Norma got us back to our hotel around 5:30pm. It was a long but wonderful tour and would definitely do it again.
