Hampden Rum Tour

After hotel pickups along the North Coast, visit the historic town of Falmouth in the parish of Trelawny. In the 18th and 19th centuries, Falmouth was once on of the busiest and most progressive towns of it's time. An epicenter for the slave trade, it was not uncommon to see several ships in port waiting for their chance to action slaves off in the town square. Today the port is now a modern cruise shipping port. Driving through the town, the buildings highlight the towns rich history as the streets are dotted with buildings from the 18th century as well as new buildings of today.
The tour continues on to the hills of Trelawny, the coast line gives way to incredible mountainous views as you continue through the lush greenery, the hills open up to reveal fields and fields on sugar cane. Once at the plantation, you will be greeted with a welcome drink of either Rum Punch or Hampden Ice Tea. Your guide well then take you on a tour of the distillery, filling you in on this centuries old plantations rich and colorful history. Learn how this estate persevered and has managed to remain operational for over 260 years. The tour ends with a sampling of rum as well as a light lunch jamaican jerk chicken lunch.
