Stop At: Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella, Via della Scala 16, 50123, Florence Italy

You will start in Piazza Santa Maria Novella where you will meet your expert local guide.You will be visiting one of the most unique places in town, the world's oldest apothecary, well worth a visit: THE OFFICINA PROFUMO SANTA MARIA NOVELLA. Antique apothecary bottles and perfume stills are displayed amidts imposing inlaid wood counters, stuccoes and frescos painted by Giotto's pupils. Here you can still purchase perfumes worn by Caterina De' Medici, one of the best known women in France's History and one of the first ambassadors of Florence civilization in Europe ! Domenican friars opened the pharmacy to the public in 1612 but the friars have been concting potions and cosmetics for almost eight hundreds years

You will then move on and stop in other great perfume shops of the area and finally reach Via Tornabuoni where we will taste one of the best known truffle sandwich in town, at an Historical shop located in the heart of Florence. You will be captured by the attractive smell of "panini tartufati" just by opening the door. There is no one grown up in Florence that doesn't know this local livinig institution!

Our tour will then go on by reaching the PORCELLINO fountain, near the Ponte Vecchio: a spot loved by tourists and citizens. You will touch the very famous NOSE of the Porcellino that is a "must" to do if you want to come back to Florence !

It's now time to get by SANTA CROCE area to look for one of the best places for perfums' lovers. Created by perfume Master Sileno Cheloni the store is set in an antique 16th century palazzo. Beneath large wooden cabinets contain rows of brown glass bottles filled with botanical ingredients you will hear the story of this original "wizard" of scent creations and understand the Aqua Flor phIlosophy: not to be a commercial industry, rather use rare and sophisticated materials to create a small number of scents for clients to enjoy. Over 1500 ingredients are used to create his masterpieces and what's more: Sileno can create a bespoke perfume just for you if you desire a truly unique scent (NOT INCLUDED)

Perfume evokes memories and has a powerful effect on our senses!

By the end of the tour you will cross the river Arno and your guide will lead you to one of the most authentic area in town. Located on a hill overlooking the city, Florence's Rose Garden is stunning during the month of May when all the flowers are in bloom. The Garden, designed in 1865 by Giuseppe Poggi is an ideal place to RELAX and enjoy the VIEW of Florence from on high.
