Aperitivo Tour of Florence

About this activity
Upon meeting your local guide, we’ll take a stroll through the city, chatting about national and local aperitivo traditions. Our first stop will be a typical wine bar that serves tripe, the most well-known street food in Florence. If you are game you can have a taste in the form of a small petite panino.

A tasting of pecorino from southen Tuscany, Tuscan prosciutto and local foccacia bread called schiacciata will be served next, street food-style alongside our first glass of traditional Chianti.

Up next, we’ll take a stroll along one of the city’s most beautiful streets and indulge in a spot of window shopping as we gaze at sumptuous displays of Italian fashion. We’ll arrive at a historic wine bar that’s owned by a family who have been making wine for thirty generations! Here we’ll taste a full-bodied super Tuscan red and soak up the old world atmosphere. We’ll then take you to the secret palace drive-through that used to sell wine in a similar fashion to the way burger chains sell their wares now.

Our last but certainly not least stop is at a local cocktail bar where you will meet professional Florentine mixologists who really know their stuff when it comes to mixing a killer blend. Choose from a selection of classic Italian cocktails, your guide (who is an expert on all things wine and gin!) will fill you in on local stories related to the bar’s vast cocktail selection. More local snacks will be served, paired perfectly with your choice of drink, of course.

After a fun filled crash course in Italian aperitivo, we hope you feel ready to try it on your own. Your tour will end with a stroll back to the meeting point but before you head off, don’t forget to ask your local guide for more tips on what else to see, do and eat during your time in Florence.

Stephania was wonderful - she took us to some great places - all different styles and around the city. She was so sweet and caring. This was our first afternoon in Florence after a long 28 Hours of travel. She made sure all of us including my two very tired 7 and 10 year old kids had a great experience!! Our 20 year old enjoyed it and so did my husband and I. We very much recommend this tour, great introduction to the city and its aperitivo tradition!

Our guide Nemi was excellent! She took us to interesting places, some historical, some with great views and some just fun. The food and drinks in each location were perfect and she was filled with interesting information that she shared with us along the tour. We also visited her husbands pizza shop ( Mangie Pizza) the next day near Ponte Vecchio. Great pizza!

We had a fantastic time on the Apertivo Tour!! Linda is a friendly, knowledgeable, and exciting tour guide. It was our anniversary and Linda not only suggested a perfect dinner recommendation she called and made the reservation for us. The conversation flowed naturally as we learned all about apertivos, Florentine food culture, and wine!! I would recommend this event to everyone interested in eating delicious food and meeting wonderful people. I would definitely take this tour a second time when I make it back to Florence!!! Linda is fabulous and the tour is absolutely worth doing, one of my favorite activities of our Italian vacation.

I was alone in Florence and this was a fun way to spend my first night there and venture around the streets of Florence. Do this tour early on when you visit Florence.

Absolutely brilliant. We had an amazing tour, learned much more than expected and had fun. One of the best food/drink tours I've done in my years.
