BOBOLI: THE GARDEN OF WONDERS
Visit with us the green oasis in the centre of Florence, a marvelous example of a 16th century Italian garden: The Boboli Gardens.
This unique space was created in 1418 from the land that Luca Pitti bought from the Borgolo family on the south of the river Arno with the intention of building there a magnificent palace.
Niccolò Tribolo was the one who projected the garden even though after his death the works were completed by his collaborators: Giorgio Vasari, Bartolomeo Ammannati, Bernardo Buontalenti and others. The area was expanded several times over the years and many new statues and fountains were added to the garden.
Have a relaxing walk through this amazing open-air museum, full of fountains, temples, beautiful caves and sculptures (Michelangelo, Giambologna). Admire its masterpieces like the Grotta Grande, the Amphitheatre, the Viottolone and the Isolotto, the Knights Garden and the Koffeehouse and enjoy a spectacular view of Florence.
