Stop At: Parco Nazionale Cinque Terre, Riomaggiore Italy

Let us to take you to discover one of Italy’s most amazing destinations, the unforgettable Ligurian Coast of Cinque Terre, UNESCO World Heritage site.

Following your transfer from Florence, you are due to arrive in the UNESCO-designated Cinque Terre National Park and discover a paradise where villages are suspended on steep cliffs and the crystal-clear waters of the Ligurian Sea invite you in for a swim.

Enjoy scenic views of 4 out of the 5 ingeniously constructed fishing villages, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997. Sinuous paths traverse seemingly impregnable cliffs, while a 19th-century railway line cuts through a series of coastal tunnels traversing from village to village.

Each village has a unique character and offers some of the most breathtaking views. Discover a place where the earth and sea fuse to create a unique landscape.

After arriving to Riomaggiore, our first stop, we will leave our transport and start the tour by walking straight to the train station in order to be transferred to Manarola by train.

Stroll through the tiny village of Manarola, built in the Genovese "case torri" (fortress) style.

Here you will be taken for a panoramic walk, where you will have the opportunity to take some of the most iconic "Postcard like" pictures and relish the surroundings. After the walk, we will take the train to Vernazza, probably the most famous town in Cinque Terre. Its reputation stems from the ruins of a castle, a cylindrical tower from the 11th century and the romanesque church of Santa Margarita in front of the dock.

In Vernazza you have the opportunity to taste one of the most delicious “gelato” in Italy.

Our tour continues in the “Pearl of Cinque Terre,” the stunning village of Monterosso, an ancient fishing village with beautiful beaches and rich vegetation on its rock faces.

We will have a typical local lunch in the old town of Monterosso al Mare, succeeded by a wine tasting of the delicious Cinque Terre wines in one of the Enotecas that the village takes pride in.

Then, you will have some free time at your disposal before you will be transferred to Riomaggiore by boat (weather permitting).

Finally, we will return to the 13th-century village of Riomaggiore, the most southerly of the Cinque Terre, especially noted for its wine and walking paths. There you will visit the famous marina and taste a cone of fried calamari and fish. There is the option of a second wine tasting, in accordance with the customers’ desires.

Afterwards, your Cinque Terre experience will be “sealed” and we will return to Firenze where our adventure started and ended respectivelly.

Our guide/ driver was Fabio, and he was a perfect tour guide! He had great stories, knew all the ins and outs of the towns, little tricks to beat the crowds, and kept us ahead of the large groups so I didn’t feel that it was as crowded as I’ve heard it can be. Also no one else booked that day, so it ended up being a private tour! The towns are so charming and beautiful, made for really great pictures. The lunch was the best pasta I’ve had in Italy! I’m still dreaming of that pesto pasta dish! There was a little confusion with our wine tasting, but no big deal, in the end we got an extra glass of wine no charge. There was a second option of wine tasting that’s not included but you can add on at the end. Even though by the end there has already been plenty of wine, we decided to do the second tasting just for the location. The restaurant is kinda hidden overlooking the sea, the view was incredible. Of all my trips to Italy, and all the tours I’ve done, this was hands down my favourite day ever! One day I plan to go back and spend more time there. Thank you Fabio!
