About this activity
Let's cook traditional Tuscan dishes together, in a farm on the Chianti hillside, using homemade ingredients like eggs, olive oil, wine, honey and vegetables.

You will prepare a 3 course menu such as tagliatelle, potato based ravioli which are ideal for vegetarians, gnocchi with spinach and boar (wild pig) meat with sauce. The exact dishes will be chosen by our cook on each ocasion.

We will meet at the main train station in Florence where our guide will pick you up in a car. You will then begin the trip towards our farm, seeing our characteristic cypresses, vineyards and olive groves.

We will then proceed towards our farm, where we will have an appetizer and then we will start preparing the fresh pasta, the boar (wild pig) based second course and tiramisu for dessert, together.

At the end we all sit down to enjoy the specialties we prepared together.

I was very disappointed with this cooking class. We only made 3 things and the sauce we used on our homemade pasta was left over from the day before. When I complained they let us make a very bland tomato sauce that was just tomatoes and onions cooked in olive oil. This was definitely not worth the money we spent. The farm house and cooking area was just ok. I have been on a lot of Viator tours and this was the first time I was completely disappointed.

What a great experience! We got a chance to go out into the farmland outside of Florence and spent the day making delicious food. We made pot roast and fresh pasta, then tiramisu for dessert - such a fantastic lunch! It was fun and truly relaxing to spend the day at a rustic farmhouse sipping wine, cooking, and eating. Our guide Leonardo picked us up directly from Florence and spoke great English. He was very helpful and guided us through the whole process even though we were by no means expert chefs, then emailed us the recipes after the class when we reached out. I actually made the tiramisu again the other day for the first time since coming home, and it was amazing! Would absolutely recommend - it was a real highlight of our honeymoon!!

The tour guide was very gracious. The experience was well organized. He even gave us a bottle of wine to go!

The food we made was tasty. Otherwise, this class was a disappointment. This was not a cooking class it was a lunch experience at a farmhouse greatly in need of updates. I cook a lot. My friends consider me a gourmet cook, and I love to add new recipes to my repertoire. I have taken French and Japanese cooking classes in my travels. Both of these classes were taught by people with culinary training in culinary kitchens. Both classes were cheaper than this class was. I learned techniques and recipes in these two classes that I now use on a regular basis. I hoped to gain hands on experience with Tuscan recipes. This class was hosted by someone with no culinary training. The class description is misleading. It states that we will make the following things: potato ravioli, gnocchi, wild boar sauce, wild boar for the second course. We didnt make any of these things. We made a simple sauce for a pork loin put together tiramisu, which is very simple and used a pasta maker. I own this pasta maker and already use the recipe we were shown. We did not make any of the pasta sauces. We did not receive copies of any of the recipes during the class so we could not take notes, even if we wanted to. We had to email the host to get them. The class description states that we will have a prosecco appetizer instead, we sampled the farmers wines, which were mediocre compared to all of the wines I tasted while in Tuscany. The class was poorly organized. We spent a lot of time sitting at a table while the host got the next activity ready. If you love to cook and want to learn Tuscan recipes, take Rick Steves advice and sign up for a class taught by a chef or someone with Tuscan culinary training at a facility set up for real cooking classes.
