Dinner and Wine Tasting in Original Tuscan Farmhouse

Dinner
About this activity
You will be met at 17:00 at the SMN train station and the local guide will proceed to the Tuscan countryside where you can admire vineyards and olive groves from the car. The olive groves are used to produce the world famous extra virgin olive oil and the vineyards are in the area best known for the production of Chianti wine. Along the way you will encounter medieval castles where the grapes are processed.
After, you will arrive at a Tuscan cottage, 300 years old, where you will be greeted by the farm animals. You can start relaxing while our sommelier starts serving the wine together with a plate of Tuscan prosciutto and cheese made in the area.
You will then have dinner with Tuscan bruschetta, pappardelle with boar, pot roast meat in wine sauce, vegetables grown on our farm and tiramisu or apple cake. The dessert will be accompanied by vin santo wine. During the meal there will be opportunities to taste various types of wine and afterwards you can continue tasting various types of grappa (distilled alcoholic beverage made from grapes). After, you will return to Florence.

Despite there having to be some alterations to the experience due to the overbooking of the original venue, Leonardo our guide made this one of the most memorable parts of our trip. Because it was the low-season this tour ended up being very much a private wine workshop and the highlight of our trip. We even had access to Leonardo's own winemaking experiment which we were lucky enough to take home with us. The Dinner was exquisite and the Florentine Steak was without a doubt our best meal of the trip. If you're looking for a chilled yet luxurious treat while in Tuscany then I would highly recommend booking this experience.
This experience was fabulous! We loved the guide, the host, the food, the wine, and the location was really beautiful. The others who joined us were seeking the same kind of cultural experience and the evening was superb.
