About this activity
Visit: Museo dell'Opera del Duomo, Piazza del Duomo 9, 50122, Florence Italy

Opera del Duomo Museum: the greatest treasures from the Cathedral Complex are brilliantly displayed in this incredible Museum. Take a step back in time and explore Florence of the past in the huge hall of the museum where we'll see a life-size reconstruction of the Cathedral Facade as it was in the early Renaissance, decorated with original sculpture by early masters including Donatello. The space is also the reconstruction of the original square between the Duomo and the Baptistery with the original bronze doors by Lorenzo Ghiberti. Learn the secrets behind one of the last sculptures of Michelangelo intended to be placed on his own tomb and learn why he attacked it with the hammer.

Duration: 1 hour

Visit: The Baptistery of St. John, Piazza San Giovanni, 50122 Firenze FI, Italy

Step inside one of the oldest monuments of Florence with its dazzling original 12th-century golden mosaics, the very place where Dante himself was baptized. Even nowadays the Baptistery maintains its original religious function: Florentines still baptize their children in its 13th-century baptismal font. Learn the story behind the bronze doors of the Baptistery, famous for giving the start to the Renaissance and how Michelangelo himself admired the so-called “Gates of Paradise” by Lorenzo Ghiberti. Later you will be able to see the original gates inside the Duomo museum.

Duration: 20 minutes

Visit: Giotto's Bell Tower, Piazza del Duomo, 50122 Firenze FI, Italy

The bell tower of Santa Maria del Fiore was begun by Giotto in 1334, carried on after his death by Andrea Pisano, and finished in 1359 by Francesco Talenti, who created the large windows at the upper levels. The sculptural decoration of the tower is extremely rich: 56 relief carvings in two registers, and 16 life-size statues in the niches, all by Florentine masters of the l4th and l5th century (among whom Andrea Pisano, Donatello, Luca Della Robbia).

should only book with the official sites as there are no agents from Viator to meet and greet. One office at Cafe Arnold, the second a half a kilometer away and still looking for the third office to retrieve my prebooked tickets. I did not get one guided tour that I paid for and I had to queue for each attraction visit in spite of the claims "skip the queue"

This was a new item when I signed up for it and although it read fast track and specified a date and 4:30 time slot that was not the case. We went to the line when we learned there was no fast track and they actually told us it was already closed for the day so could not enter even with the general public line. Disappointed to miss visiting this gem since it was our last day in Florence.
