About this activity

Starting from Florence's 'belly button', the Piazza della Repubblica, you'll set out on a pleasant stroll that begins with an overview of the city's history, then continues on to the ancient and colorful Straw Market. Here, kids will have an opportunity to caress the shiny nose of Piglet, a bronze statue that's said to grant wishes.

Throughout the tour, your guide fascinates kids as well as young adults using entertaining stories, anecdotes, and legends while helping adults appreciate Florence's historical and artistic aspects ― embarking on a route that touches upon the landmarks of the city's old center.

Take in lovely views of the Arno River and Ponte Vecchio before reaching Piazza della Signoria, Florence's political center. While adults can enjoy the wonders of the famous Palazzo Vecchio, a true outdoor museum, your guide regales the younger crowd with captivating stories of secret passages, vanished churches, great artists, and intrepid navigators.

Then, it's off to the medieval neighborhood where poet Dante Alighier met his beloved Beatrice. You'll learn the details of Dante's love while the kids get a surprise photo op with Pinocchio, the world's most famous wooden puppet.

Next, enjoy a stop at one of the city's historic ice-cream shops and savor a cup (or cone) of real homemade gelato produced using local ingredients.

Your tour concludes at the city's religious center, home to the Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore and its miraculous Brunelleschi's Dome, the Florence Baptistery with its stunning Doors of Paradise, and the elegant Giotto's Bell Tower, where you'll hear incredible tales involving magical plants, bizarre creatures, and other astonishing wonders.
