FLORENCE AND CHIANTI IN ONE DAY!

In the morning you will meet in central Florence where you will be joined by an expert English speaking guide.
You will then begin your adventure into seeing the history of Florence come to life on this overall yet focused tour of Florence, the birthplace of the Renaissance. See famous artworks, including numerous outdoor statues. Hear great stories and fun facts about the must-see sights covering: Piazza della Signoria, Ponte Vecchio, the Porcellino Market, Piazza della Repubblica, the Cathedral and its square with Giotto’s Bell Tower, The Gates of Paradise, while also walking down little medieval alleys of the historical center. Also visit the Uffizi Gallery for works by Da Vinci, Raphael & Boticelli and the Accademia Gallery to view Michelangelo’s majestic David statue and his Slaves composition. After your culture rich morning, you will stop at a cafe back in Piazza Republica where you will be given some time to grab a snack, water, cafe or use the restroom before departing on your next adventure of the day. You will then be escorted by your guide to your comfortable air-conditioned minivan where you will be met by your expert certified driver to enjoy an hours drive into the heart of Chianti Classico. While going deeper into the Tuscan landscape you will be able to relax after your culture filled day sit back and enjoy the beautiful views of the rolling hills and vineyards while experiencing the taste and smells of Italy. At the small family winery estate you will tour the wine cellar learning about the winemaking process among the delicious smell of the wine aging in the French oak. At lunch enjoy a five-course meal and tasting of five wines, one white and several reds, including their reserve and super Tuscan. For lunch, you will enjoy bruschetta with fresh tomatoes and other seasonal spreads, local meats, a pasta of your choice, selection of cheeses accompanied by balsamic vinegar aged 12 and 20 yrs. For dessert, you will have Vin Santo (saints wine) and cantucci biscuits. After you have spent a few relaxing hours enjoying your Tuscan spread we will take a 35-40 minute drive to San Gimignano where you will see the stunning panorama and soak up some of the best views in Tuscany. You will then have free time to wonder the medieval streets, visit the main piazza where you may find Dondoli, the world famous gelato, do some shopping or grab a cafe. You will have approximately 1 to 1,5 hours to stroll the medieval village. You will then hop back in your van to return to Florence taking in some of the most scenic and picturesque views in Chianti while leaving San Gimignano, upon returning you will be dropped off back in the center of Florence.
