The hop on hop off tour was great since we only had a day trip to Florence. It allowed us to see more of Florence than we would've seen just by foot.
We enjoyed the tour and the on/off privileges. I would have to agree that the bus routes need to be more clearly marked. I had older ppl with me and trying to scout out the stops was tiring.
Definitely worth doing this, it allows you to get your bearings, see the city in one go and then decide where you want to spend more time. For any of the popular attractions make sure you pre book tickets otherwise be prepared for a long wait, although l suppose will depend on time of year you are travelling. For cheaper restaurants go over to the other side of the river away from the main thoroughfares. I would also recommend Fiesole, there is a Roman amphitheatre there if you like that sort of thing and the view of Florence when you travel up the mountain side road is amazing! Be sat on the right hand side of the bus going up to see it at its best.
All of our previous hop on/off tour experiences have been excellent, but this one was disappointing. Florence is small and mostly pedestrianised so the tour bus is not needed, and can’t reach many of the main sites ( Duomo, Ponte Vecchio). As well as this it is really hard to find the stops, because they are nowhere near the main attractions with no sign posting. We wasted a lot of time trying to locate a stop to join the tour. The only reason to get the bus would be to go up to the Palazzo Michaelangelio. A shame as we do rate these tours
Good experience Good buses City is beautiful Can easily do both lines in one day try not to visit in peak summer
The on off bus is always a good idea. It gives you the best way to have a look at everything a destination has to offer
Actually we started off late but we could finish both routes , the attractions were very good but the waiting times between buses was too long , I used previously the same in Paris and Madrd but here we had to wait more then 30 minutes in some areas
The hop-on/hop-off buses are the best! I love being able to see the city and get my bearings when I arrive! Easy and great to hear the history as you travel around. This was my second time taking this tour bus in Florence. I love the ease of traveling out to Fiesole (which you can't skip!) and then up to Piazzale Michelangelo to see the most breath-taking view of Florence!
2 different routes are offered (you can go on both) one stays closer to the inner city and the other takes you to the outskirts of town. I went on both and loved all the different views and additional sights I got to see.
Hop on off bus is absolutely the best value for your dollar, you get to see everything in a day then spend additional time wherever you are most interested.
The recorded message gives a nice tour. Both of the lines are interesting, with line B going to beautiful Fiesole. Stop at Piazzale Michelangelo for a stunning view of Florence. The bus stops can be difficult to find.
I wish that they had a route map when we booked this tour and also list the name what they are operating under. It was not easy to find the stops to get on. We ended up walking 1 mile or more to find a stop and people on the street are not helpful as they don't speak English. After wasting 90 minutes we ended up on a bus that uses a different name than 'hop on hop off'. We were exhausted, but once on the bus the recorded guide was OK. Does not go close to or cover other attractions.
Was very disappointed to find when I got there that the tour only covers the outside of the city. I can understand that the big busses will not go down thethe narrow streets, but the public bus system runs smaller buses to go into the city center and it seems like this tour could do the same. And you only find out this limitation when you actually get to Florence and see the map, if you have bought the tickets in advance
With limited time in Florence, we choose to utilize the Hop-on Hop-off Bus to get an overview and a sense of what we really wanted to concentrate on. The narrative was informative, but the devices provided did not adapt to persons wearing hearing aids. The stop numbers were not printed very large and you had to look carefully as to where you were or where you were going to utilize the bus. Overall it was well worth the time to get a general sense of Florence.
Excellent way to see the city, the buses give you a very comprehensive tour with information about the major sites and places, which is pretty cool. The main highlight for us was the ride up to Fiesole and exploring the village there with a birds eye view over Florence from the Tuscan mountains- it was absolutely a surprise and I felt like it was very under played.
Easy to access the bus from the main stop just outside the train station and used both routes over two days to all the good spots
This is a great way to see Florence and it’s surroundings. You can stay on the bus for the full tour then get off the stops you wish after seeing the city. It gives a good overlook where everything is located
Great way to see and get around the City. Never had to wait long for a bus and the bus wasn't crowded.
Good way to see the city with my family in a relaxing way. However, the meeting point instruction was wrong. We were waiting at the train station, luggage room side as instructed in ticket for 1 hour only to find out later they changed the meeting point.
We made good use of our pass and enjoyed every minute of the experience - the best way to get around, fabulous scenery and with a bit of luck you can get the front seat and take wonderful photos - always upstairs whenever possible.
Good way to see the city. We booked two days but one is plenty. Gives you a good overview of the city.
