About this activity
The locals believe that the true treasure of Florence is not obvious to your average traveler with map in hand. It is what you cannot see at first glance that will truly allow you to appreciate a city whose free thinkers launched the Western world into the modern age. Florence Small Group Walking Tour with David allows you to feel not only the past greats that shaped our modern world, but also feel the pulsating vibe of an architecture and way of life that can be found nowhere else in Italy.

Your expert Florence guide will navigate the narrow alleys with you showing this amazing UNESCO heritage site, but also taking you to a few lesser known areas in the city centre. With some of the most famous names of the Renaissance era being directly related to this beautiful city, such as Dante, Medici, Michelangelo, Machiavelli and Leonardo Da Vinci, you will be in constant awe.

It is unimaginable to do a Florence walking tour without paying a visit to see the David by Michelangelo. In order to really appreciate this masterpiece, your Florence expert guide will immerse you in the Renaissance period throughout the course of the tour by highlighting some of the city’s most incredible works of art. During your Florence Small Group Walking Tour with David you'll visit the Accademia with the famous Michelangelo's David, stand in front of Florence's spectacular Cathedral Santa Maria del Fiore (the Duomo of Florence) with its amazing baptistry doors, and pass by the Piazza della Signoria, the well known Ponte Vecchio, Dante's district and the 14th century Orsanmichele church. Florence is not only known for its monuments and amazing art, but it is also home to some amazing Italian food: during the walking tour you'll have the opportunity to buy the best gelato in Florence and, as you pass by one of many local Italian street food vendors, you'll learn about one of the most typical Florentine dishes - trippa!

Our guide knew a lot about Florence and everything we saw! It was a good tour with skip the line access to see David!

We so enjoyed the tour we had with Francesca in Florence. She was so attentive, personable, and knowledgeable. Couldn't have asked for a better time. the "Skip the Line" tour was efficient; we were among the first into the Academia. Along the way, Francesca gave us interesting information about what we were seeing, along with suggestions for other things to do, depending on whether we were in Florence for another day or several days. She is a gem!

Francesca was absolutely amazing--she was fun, very interactive with our intimate group 8 and in addition to knowing the history of Florence like it was the back of her hand, she added a local touch with her knowledge of the restaurants, wine, and gelato stores that were off the beaten path. Even after the tour was over, she was kind enough to walk with us to the train station---highly recommend Francesca and The Roman Guy tour!!
